Hi All,

One thing I am interested in is the role ATP plays in brain function. I am yet to see anyone suggest taking creatine to increase the levels of ATP in the body/brain, but it has been shown that without adequate levels of ATP in the brain, function decreases - any comments on this?

It's used commonly in body building as having increased levels of ATP in your muscles allows you to 'push' yourself a bit harder, because in a sense your muscles have a bit more fuel in them than normal.

There are only so many ways to increase / improve brain function - blood flow, more oxygen, cholinergenic system / synaptic function (can't think of any else).

I've thought of incorporating creatine too. I used to use and now use L-glutamine for immune health.

I'm using CEE, good stuff for my sport needs and seems good for skin too.

you gotta drink outrageous amounts of water with creatine from my experience. I dunno if cretine would increase ATP in the brain. I know it does in skeletal muscles, but remember that blood brain barrier, so I dunno.

It does help with Fatigue (Both physical and mental). There are plenty of studies that support this.

And yes, make sure to take with warm water, and with no citrus juice. Many juices completely neutralize its effects.

and don't buy those damn creatines loaded with glucose for the "insulin" effect. That can't be healthy long term. German grade pure creatine is cheap and very effective -- at least for skeletal muscle power -- ATP in the brain I still would need to see an abstract to buy that it gets into the brain.

citrus juices converts the Creatine into Creatinine, a useless but harmless substance.
