This thread will be a compilation of the conference volunteer efforts I wish to document. I'll focus each post on one individual at a time. Others are warmly invited to jostle my memory and include their volunteer documentation.

Justin Loew (Mind - ImmInst Spokesperson and Treasurer) stands out first in my mind for his gracious efforts in purchasing a rental vehicle to ferry speakers and guests between the hotel and the conference center. Justin is also an exceptional talent as he stepped in during the last week to take on four more conference speaker introductions... Justin introduced and mentored five speakers (Ben Best, Brian Wowk, James Hughes, Max More, and Rudi Hoffman).

On top of his role as spokesperson, Justin puts in quite a bit of time each month helping ImmInst with our financial records.

I must be away now... bbl later for more appreciation.

Thanks to Martine Rothblatt for helping us to promote the event by sponsoring the purchase and mailing of more than 700 books (Ray Kurzweil & Terry Grossman's Fantastic Voyage : Live Long Enough to Live Forever) to current ImmInst Members. A number of individuals attend because of this mailing.

Dr. Rothblatt has also sponsored a matching grant (100K) to support vitrification research.

I forgot to fill out the feedback sheet before I left, so here's my response:

This conference was an absolute 10 on a scale of 1 to 10.

AMAZING collection of great speakers, excellent schedule, great choice of venue, fun and interesting group of people. I couldn't have asked for more, except perhaps a working cure for aging. But I can exercise some patience on that one. At least a bunch of smart people are working on it.

If you do another one next year, I will DEFINITELY be there. [:o] [:o] [:o] [:o] [:o]

Bruce has been so busy thanking everyone else that his own incredible efforts have gone unmentioned.

I was very skeptical in the beginning. However, this conference was truly a total success.

That success is due to Bruce's and Susan's total dedication to seeing it succeed.

I just got back to vlogging two more reports on the conference. They can be accessed here:

I just vlogged footage shot inside CNN Headquarters during our tour on the Sunday after the Conference. It's not so much on "topic" as it is fun. I subtitled it "Immortalists acting mortal".

LINK: http://www.blip.tv/file/5534 It is probably best to send people directly to the link because you never know what I might throw up on top of my vlog at the general link below.

I think I might post an interview I did with John from Germany next. Have to look at some more footage.

Vloggingly yours,

Randy Wicker
