Can anyone post subjective experiences with the herb Rhodiola Rosea, and at what dose you could feel the desired instant effect?

I tried it, 300mg, 3% rosavins, looking for absolute calm focus but I couldn't feel a thing.
I don't yet see it as a stable in my stack but I would like to give it a try occasionally, probably upping the dose 2-3x.

higher doses of rhodiola usually render it ineffective

150MG produced a very improved positive mood when i was getting off caffeine

300MG produced nothing

more isnt always better

That's interesting. I tried 150mg at first, no effect.
I was seeing it as helping me withstand stress while keeping neurotransmitter levels high rather than a mood stabilizer/lifter.

Sounds nice it helped you with caffeine withdrawal.

For me, it actually REMOVED stress induced depression/burnout.

Im in a chiropractic school that has a curiculum very similar to medical school. It is/was a lifesaver....

Mild pro-sexual effects too.

Notice a slight synergistic effect with caffeine too.

I too dropped down from 300mg (3%) to 150mg as I notice it makes me irritable at that dose.

I take 250 mg before I go on long runs (10 or more miles) or if I have an exam or alot of work to do. It does help your system cope with stress, and may bolster the immune system. I used to take it everyday but it gives me heartburn sometimes. I probably take it 3 or 4 times a week. I havn't noticed it puts me in a better mood necessarily, but it does seem to elevate my energy level a bit.

I take 300mg a day and it seems to help with stress.

and it seems to help with stress

Do anyone benefit from its calming effects before exams/meetings etc. or do you use it for a more "allround" increase in endurance, performance and stress reducer during the day?

or if I have an exam

Caver, how do you feel the effect?

I forget the dose precisely, I believe it was on OO cap filled completely, I guess a comparatively high dose (maybe around 700 mg?).

I didn't expect this effect, so that might minimize the chance of it being placebo-induced, but what I remember most strikingly was a much (painfully so) firmer than usual erection. I'll have to try it again to see if I feel anything cognitive; I was so overwhelmed by the other effect. I'm considering adding it to my daily regimen for its oft cited adaptogenic effects.

For me, it works very well as a mild stimulant, sinergistically with caffeine, but unlike caffeine, it has some anti-anxiety characteristics. The strange thing I realised though is that even if it is said to be anti-inflamatory, it makes my low back pain stronger, so I stopped taking it until the low back healed. No pro-sexual effect at all, but then my testosterone/libido is naturally boosted very much by weight-lifting on its own.

I take 2 x 200mg, in the morning and pm.

Helps me handle stress better, it's like I can keep cool in otherwise stressful situations at work.

Definately works for me. Cheap too.

I will take this in the future, that's for sure.

My GF has had similar experiences, she takes the same dose.

How does this compare to bacopa? I just started taking bacopa at 300mg ed about 5 days ago and can tell I am much more calm in stressful situations and in a slightly more upbeat mood than usual. Is the effects better than bacopa?

Bacopa is mild AchE inhibitor. Not sure they're really all that similar.

So the consensus is to start at 150mg a day possibly raising to 300mg but anymore than that should be a waste? So irritability is one of the effects that you've experienced when on too high of a dose, any other tell tell signs that I should increase or decrease?
