Dear Longecity Friends,

Have you ever considered your destiny may depend upon, you personally? And beyond that, have you considered the destiny of many others may depend upon your actions?  People who have changed the world, didn’t have any doubts that the future depended on their actions. Scientists, businessmen and famous public figures didn't wait until someone did something important for the world. They took responsibility for what was happening around and acted, despite all the difficulties. Are you ready to become such a person? Maybe you too have always wanted to make a significant difference, but didn't know where to begin? So spend a moment to read the information below.

Today there is a unique project being prepared by a group of scientists, activists and other like minded people from many countries. A project which will give us the opportunity to rescue millions of people from future suffering . The project brings the fight against aging to a global level. Each day people suffer and die from the many diseases associated with aging.  Researchers worldwide are engaged in a valiant effort to save countless lives in the near future.

We are currently preparing the first stage of the MMTP project - to test combinations of geroprotectors on mice. The results of this research will be available to the entire scientific community. It’s a big step in this work against the most serious enemy of mankind - aging and its related diseases. And now our project urgently needs the help of motivated individuals. We’re looking for volunteers who are ready to put in the time and effort, to make a future without aging a reality that much sooner. We Launch a crowdfunding campaign in March this year to test Senolytics and apply them to robust lifespan studies and aging research.

We are therefore looking for people with experience in different fields. Our project is greatly in need of the following activists:

Copywriters.  Are you able to state your thoughts on a set subject well? Are you interested in discoveries in the field of regenerative medicine? Do you have a little time and a lot of desire to participate in something really important? If so we really need you!

Communicators. Can you make new contacts easily, finding a common language with different people? Are you able to write a letter to a stranger? Join us!

Administrators and owners of Internet communities, pages on FB, reddit, science Ezines, Youtube, etc. Do you want to support scientific research by telling the world about our project on those resources (Are you seeking such an opportunity)? Please, contact us now!

Longecity Blogger. We are keen to identify and work with the Longecity community and engage with active members interested in helping us run a research blog here. If you are interested and can spare some time to meet with the project team please get us touch.

Read more about the project http://www.majormouse.org/

If you are unsure about the listed "positions", but you still want to help the project - please, contact us at info@majormouse.org and tell us how you would like to get involved with us or you can contact me directly via PM here on the forums.

Thanks for your time and interest!

Hi, Folks!

Yes we have indeed launched our fundraiser on the 10th and are going great guns! Over 3000 dollars raised already which is great! Here is our official press release:

May 10

Paris, France

International Longevity Alliance press-release

Longevity activists call to support the investigation of drugs against aging

The International Longevity Alliance, a non-profit international organization with its headquarters in Paris, announces the launch of its crowdfunding campaign, in support of The Major Mouse Testing Program (MMTP): an ambitious research project to investigate age delaying therapies in mice. The project aims to test a number of compounds and their combinations, that are expected to slow down aging processes and postpone the manifestation of age-related diseases. Each stage of the project will require relatively small funding, from $60 to $100 thousand, but could have a major impact on the development of new therapies to slow down aging in humans. The first stage of fundraising will launch in May 2016, and will be hosted on the Lifespan.io crowdfunding platform, dedicated to helping researchers who study aging and longevity.

“Aging is the leading risk factor in the development of severe diseases such as cancer, type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, osteoarthritis, osteoporosis and others” says Steve Hill, the leader of the project. - “Science is increasingly demonstrating that the processes of aging are amenable to intervention, and that such intervention will help prevent and reverse many diseases simultaneously.  Many promising interventions lack robust animal testing, however; this is where we will try to foster the scientific research of longevity therapies”.

The first campaign is focused on the problem of “death resistant” senescent cells which accumulate with age and slowly poison the body and damage neighboring cells. Many leading experts in gerontology, including famous life extension proponent Aubrey de Grey, believe the reduction of these cells should reduce chronic inflammation and help encourage healthy tissue regeneration and function. A new class of drugs known as “Senolytics” have been shown to remove these dysfunctional cells and this is the initial focus for the project. Senolytics have successfully demonstrated their ability to significantly improve the state of the cardiovascular system, lungs and skin in old mice, but these promising drugs have not yet been tested for their effect on longevity.

The research team under the guidance of Dr. Alexandra Stolzing, Principal investigator at Leipzig University in Germany and Senior Lecturer in Loughborough University, UK, is hoping to show that these substances will promote the health- and lifespan. To speed up the pace of the experiments, testing will be done in mice that have already reached middle age naturally, corresponding to a human of approximately 60 years old.

“When the ILA representatives invited me to take part in this project, I made my decision immediately, because this is an exciting opportunity to test interventions in vivo” Dr Stolzing commented. “We also want to investigate the effect of Senolytics on stem cells”.

The MMTP project will be realized over several years, with support from the pro-longevity community  and ILA partner organizations worldwide. The more funding raised for the project, the more substances the researchers will be able to test, which includes combinations of proven therapies from previous test phases.

The team is planning to publish the results open access, to make all groups investigating aging and longevity benefit from the results of this research.

We have an AMA planned on Reddit for Monday 16th at 17:00 GMT too and various other things planned as the campaign progresses!

Lots of information on our website at www.majormouse.org

Our Facebook: https://www.facebook...esting.Program/

Twitter: https://twitter.com/MajorMouseMMTP

We are testing three compounds this phase: Dasatinib, Quercetin and Venetoclax in various combinations and dose and dosage regimes. All shown to remove senescent cells and there is a short primer here if you wish to read more.

If we can fund this phase then the following phase will see us combine what we learn from Senolytics with our next step, Senolytics + Stem cell therapy hopefully for robust rejuvention!

Lots of support so far but more is certainly gratefully received to get this launched and so real progress in longevity science made!

Come and show you support at lifespan.io today!

Due to budget constraints we are using CR as our positive control. CR produces very predictable results much the same as Spindler and Miller demonstrate in previous studies so it is an ideal + Control.

Happy to answer any questions people might have on here and be sure to check out our campaign page updates! Today Brian Kennedy from The Buck talks about MMTP and the importance of mice.

The campaign has raised over $27500 (which makes about 60% of the intermediary goal and 45% of the stretch goal) and keep moving towards the success - all thanks to your support!

We have received help from three Gold Sponsors, they donated 5 thousand dollars each! A supporter of longevity research Arthur Helfstein Fragoso IERFH coordinator from Brazil, Russian businessman Andrey Ulitin and venture angel Leon Apel from Canada are interested in the development of life extension technologies based on senolytics, and they have decided to support us!

We are very pleased to see that the project is getting truly international support. The donations are coming from many countries all over the world!

Today we invite you to watch a short interview with Daria Khaltourina, an ILA Board Member, and a famous health care advocate from Russia.

Daria is currently part of an international initiative to include aging as a disease into the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-11) in 2017. This is an important change because it will allow developers to test and to register geroprotective drugs as such, and for doctors - to prescribe them to prevent aging in healthy middle age people. You can learn more about Daria and her work with the World Health Organization here and how she is helping to change regulations so aging can be studied and treated medically.

Learn more about the opinion of the scientific community for the inclusion of aging as a disease in ICD-11, read the articles in the specialized section in Frontiers of Genetics by Sven Bulterijs, Alex Zhavoronkov, Alexey Moskalev and their colleagues.

We are close to reaching our fundraising goals if you have not already please consider donating to our project, and also please ask your friends and colleagues to do the same. Even few dollars is a step closer to this important test of Senolytics potential to extend maximum lifespan!
