My comment is with regards to this post in this thread trialling cerebrolysin.
Not to be condescending, but "getting massively drunk" is probably the worst thing you can do during a period of experimentation as it will hinder your ability to determine the efficacy of a nootropic. (Then again... it might be good for testing if it improves your impaired memory whilst drunk) Ethanol has been found to have a negative effect on memory formation and even a low amount has been found to impair LTP related processes which are crucial for learning. Cutting back on alcohol might not be a nootropic in and of itself but, it will definitely be beneficial for your memory.

I wanted to comment as i considering cuttin out alcohol completely when trialling differened nootropics is actually letting them interfere with your life too much, is weekly use of alcohol of part of your lifestyle then i absolutely dont see a point in eliminating alcohol use during the first trials of a particular nootropic, as with future use youd use alcohol use anyway and then you would know how they interact.
The message of this thread is to not let nootropics change and take over your life, but trial them on your current lifestyle and see wheter the addiition is beneficial or not.
