Got some stabilium 2000 which I've never tried but am interested to try now.  Only thing is it says Best Before December 2015.

Thoughts guys?

Watched a  tv show a while back which should that expired drugs were still safe and effective months after. Companies tend to be conservative on dates due to health and safety regs. But don't take that as a thumbs up to proceed. There is some leverage but if it is a couple of weeks or months after don't know.

Usually the best before date is well before the drug actually really expires, in some case there is no actual expiry date since the compound will never expire (like the Betadine I am still using after more than 10 years after officially "expired" or like the expire date I found on a clay powder bag!!! ).

My Retin-A is still as good as new a couple of years after expired but I keep it in the fridge all the time...(retinoids should be quite time sensitive as far as I know).

Usually a never opened drug kept in the fridge or reasonably good environment should be good for much longer than the expire date but of course there might be exceptions.

I suppose usually the expire date is the minimum safe under the worst conditions.

The US military was spending a fortune throwing away drugs at their claimed expiration date, and did some testing of their own.  Their conclusion was that most expiration dates were wildly conservative, and at least some things could be kept up to ten years.  I've certainly taken things way past their expiration date.  It would depend on how well it was stored, how hard it would be to get more, and how bad you want it.  Solids will last longer than drugs in solution, as a rule.  Drugs that have been opened will not last as long as containers that have never had the seal broken, typically.
