I read a lot about Galantamine recently and it all points to improvement in the mental capacity of elderly patients with or without cognitive disease, however, nothing is mentioned about teenagers. Would an 18 year old for example gain anything from Galantamine?

Why don't you try it and come back and tell us?

I am 19 years old and I have added Galantamine to my nootropic and wellness "stack". In the couple of months that I have been taking it (starting at 4mg, now at 8mg) I have noticed a measurable improvement in alertness, mood (motivation included), and flow of thought. I like it much more than huperzine which made me exhibit obsessive tendencies. For me, Galantamine is a vital part of my stack.

Yep, beyond the acetylcholine increase, it helps to reduce cell death and potentiates the receptors

Does huperzine reduce receptors ?
catshmat: For how long do you use the 8mg/day galantamine ? do you take at once or spred it over the day ?

Using for approx. a month and a half. Taken at once, in the morning, with breakfast.

Yeah, galantamine has the potential to really make you feel like crap. I'm pretty certain I only get that nauseous reaction from it when I combine 8mg of galantamine with 500mg of centrophenoxine. I haven't decided whether I will try reducing the dosages of one or both, eliminating one or the other, or just putting up with it in the hope that my body will adjust.

start with taking 4mg of galantamine, and then ramp up your dose, and make sure you take your galantamine with food.
