I am taking a ZMA supplement that contains 30mg of Zinc every night before bed. Do I need to supplement with copper at 1-3mg?

If you have no other copper sources, then yes, because these two minerals are competing against each other. "Ideally" an 8:1 Zinc-Copper ratio is suggested. You may have gotten copper intake from your shower, though, just be sure.

If I were you, I'd buy some prunes, mushrooms and lima beans, then a high grade copper supplement.
