If you take ubiquinone at the same time as ubiquinol then does it reduce their benefit?

I understand that ubiquinone is oxidized CoQ10 and ubiquinol is reduced CoQ10 but I'm not really sure how they would interact.  Can someone advise because my chemistry about these things is not great.

Thanks for any info.

SOME BACKGROUND

I have been taking 600mg ubiquinone a day with limited effect.  So I have started taking 300mg of ubiquinone plus 300mg ubiquinol.  This seems to be helping.  As ubiquinol is more expensive I wonder if I can boost CoQ10 levels with ubiquinone and then top up those levels with ubiquinone which might permit higher concentrations of CoQ10.  Especially as I am 60 years old.

Not in my experience. I've got angina-like chest-pain whenever taking less than 160 mg/d of ubiquinone, half that amount with ubiquinol, and any equal proportions of both.

Surprisingly, my serum CoQ10 came back quite high at 3.3 µg/ml (0.8 - 1,4 range) with in average 100mg ubiquinone and 40mg ubiquinol only.

Hello Pamojja.  Just to be clear, are you swallowing the ubiquinone and ubiquinol capsules together?  Perhaps in the same mouthful.

I take them separately, like each other day, or one with the morning meal, the other with the evening meal. Depending on dose.
