I'm interested in good enough quality, saving money, and I'd prefer if DHA were less than ~15% as plentiful as EPA. Where do I go?

The highest (relatively low cost) one I've been able to find is 5:1 concentration (so 200% not 150%).

Probably because of the "mood" and cognitive support seen with EPA and not with DHA? That, or the argument that DHA may "get in the way" of EPA doing it's thing.

If anyone can point me to a really good run down on the above issues (besides AOR), I'd appreciate it.

That sums it up quite nicely, Kevin. Thank you.

Ajnast4r, the research indicate that to some extent, DHA counteracts positive psychological changes seen with EPA supplementation. Consuming EPA in isolation helped the most. I don't want to exclude DHA, but I would like to keep its level moderated while I increase my intake of EPA substantially.

Isn't DHA linked to being the portion that gives the most cardiac benefits? If so, are you guys comfortable in that trade?

Who's trading anything? :D I simply want to megadose EPA without simultaneously megadosing DHA.

I understand that. But, are you talking about taking regular mixed fish oil along with the high-EPA oil, or do you consider the 200mg DHA per 1000mg EPA to be sufficient?

I guess it all depends on how much you're going to be taking, 4000mg of EPA with 800mg of DHA might be fine, but I would want more than 200-400mg of DHA daily.

I'll probably settle on about 400-600 mg/day of DHA supplementation. Then add in anything I might get through diet and I suspect I'll be fine. By the way, I ordered the EPA omega 3 supplement linked to by kevink. Compared to AOR's EPA supplement, it's half the cost per mg of EPA (about 33 cents/day for 2 gm instead of 68 cents/day or so). And then Country Life throw in the DHA for free.
