So, these two weight loss products come from the same plant and are marketed differently. I've used Garcinia Cambogia and Green Coffee Extracts (products with the Hydroxycitric Acid active) more than the Garcinia Mangostana and the aforementioned products seemed to over-satiate and deprive me of motivation presumably due to their affect on serotonin levels. Low sero = more motivation. Which is probably why many people will tell you this stuff doesn't work. You just grow bored and complacent when taking it until you don't care anymore and then you gain the weight back. It may still be good for people who can easily reach their optimal weight, but if you don't think you'll get there in a few weeks and won't generally stay there, it'll end in failure imo.

The mangostana (meratrim) extracts would seem to be proven for their ability to inhibit adipocyte formation and also include sphaeranthus indicus extract. But are the effects due to the lowered food intake or something independent of the effects HCA products seem to have on satiety/feelings of satisfaction or fullness?  Has anyone seen information that compares the actives in these products? It stands to reason by the dose, there are different actives. Sphaeranthus indicus is at the top of the list and so is at least 50% of Meratrim given that it contains only two ingredients. But what are they? I don't particularly remember finding myself less motivated while on products containing Meratrim, but that was some time ago. It's also good to note that the effects could be from the S. Indicus's rise of testosterone. So should I just find a S. Indicus extract and take that or is there something in G. Mangostana that is critically important to the complex.

What about complexes containing Irvingia? This is just adding a small amount of fiber? What's the weight ratio of the Irvingia fiber to that of Alpha Cyclodextrin? Does it compare well?
