Adderall and Ritalin protective against dementia?

Recently diagnosed ADHD (inattentive) at 45 years old and prescribed 10 mg Adderall. Wow, what a difference! Lewy body syndrome (dementia) runs in my family and I've read ADHD may predict dementia later in life. The article below says Adderall and Ritalin are protective against dementia, and "Ritalin may be more protective than Adderall because Ritalin acts on both the re-uptake of dopamine and on the delivery of dopamine to the brain.  Adderall acts only to increase delivery." So I'm wondering if I should switch to Ritalin based on this. The link to the research the article is based on is no longer there.  Does the reason above about Ritalin being more protective make sense to any of you? Because I have no problem trying Ritalin...
