I am looking for supplements or other ways to specifically improve emotional intelligence.
My idea with this post is that when you're feeling flat you can think well my receptors are fried and pop some Phenibut pills to perk you up, or drink to forget but that doesn't lead to anything other than addiction. I like to think that you are feeling flat for a reason- maybe you supress your emotions because they are mostly negative because of a traumatic past. So it would be beneficial to work through these emotions somehow.
But to do that and to modulate your emotions a strong emotional intelligence would be very beneficial, which not everyone has (I don't).
As an example Magnesium threonate puts me in an analytical state of mind- I can think things through better, but this is very much a left side of the brain effect.
