I have decided that I want to give a week long administration of Cerebrolysin a shot, but unlike with other drugs I don't know where to begin with this one. First off, living in the US, how do I get my hands on some? The only place I could find was rupharma.com/ but I don't know if that is the best source for trustworthiness and price. Next, Where am I supposed to find appropriate syringes for IM injection? I have looked in many places but can only find flat tips or subcutaneous diabetes needles. Does anyone have any advice? Finally, is there anything else besides these two items that I should be getting? So far it seems the costs would add up to around $80 and that is just for 5 10ml injections (not even one week). Does anyone have any information they can give to help me out? I would really appreciate it.

Well, the best would be to get a romanian or russian person that you know to buy it directly from a pharmacy whenever they go visit their family.... Probably some other countries carry it as well in the pharmacy. It's the least expensive and trustworthy option.

Unfortunately, that is too impractical for me lol. Does anyone here get theirs from Rupharma?

I have bought Cerebrolysin from a few sources but now buy it from Cosmicnootropic.
If you search the name in here or on Reddit, you will find a few people who have bought from them with good reviews. When you order from them, you can order the required needles/syringes at the same time. Otherwise google online chemists for syringes which is how I have bought mine.
You mentioned you want to do a one week course, there wont be too much benefit in this, it is recommended to take for 4 weeks or so for its effects to be realised.

A bit more info.
You mentioned 5x 10ml lasting less than 1 week.
Most people only take 5ml at a time, and many take it 5 days on, 2 days off, so your 5x10ml will last you 2 weeks.
You will still want to but another box of 5x 10ml ampules so you can take it for one month.

You can use analogues of Cerebrolysin. Cerebrolysin's primary mechanism of action is peptide-based; essentially, it is an analogue of Khavinson peptides derived from brain tissue. Cerebrolysin has a slightly richer composition, containing fragments of neurotrophic factors and trace elements, but 80-90% of its effect on the brain is due precisely to the peptides.
The closest analogue of Cerebrolysin is the drug Cortexin. It is a pharmaceutical, injectable drug, making it an order of magnitude more effective than oral forms. There are also oral Khavinson peptides sold as supplements: Cerluten (made from animal brain tissue) and the synthetic Pinealon.
Here are their main differences:
-
Cortexin (Кортексин) is injectable, thus it penetrates the brain better. Its action is much stronger than that of oral preparations, making it much closer to Cerebrolysin. It's also important that Cortexin is a pharmaceutical drug, not a supplement, so its production adheres to all safety standards, which is crucial for brain tissue-based products. There are theoretical, albeit quite low, risks of prion infections. It also meets the critical requirement for brain-derived drugs: its composition is below 10 kDa.
-
Cerluten is essentially the same as Cortexin, but it is not a pharmaceutical drug and is not injectable, and is consequently much weaker. Manufacturers claimed in an interview that the production technology for Cerluten also ensures a molecular weight below 10 kDa, but I have never found any documentary evidence for this. For Cortexin, however, there is research showing it contains no peptides above 10 kDa, making it theoretically safer.
-
Pinealon is a synthetic analogue of Cerluten and Cortexin, making it much safer in terms of prion infection risk; it is safer than Cerebrolysin in this regard. However, being synthetic, its action is cruder and it suppresses the immune system and thymus more strongly. While Cortexin, Cerluten, and Cerebrolysin contain several dozen brain peptides in small concentrations, providing a softer, more natural action and potentially better long-term effects, Pinealon contains a single synthetic peptide in large doses. Its effect might be stronger but is not as long-lasting; it is crude and immunosuppressive.
Now, regarding the correct use of these drugs: peptide preparations should not be used for more than 10 days, at least at therapeutic doses.
-
Correct doses for synthetic peptides (Pinealon): 100-200 micrograms per day (not milligrams!).
-
Correct doses for natural purified peptides in injectable form (Cortexin): significantly higher — 10 milligrams per day for an adult.
-
Correct doses for natural peptides in oral form (Cerluten): 20 milligrams per day.
The reason for these limitations is simple: immune suppression via thymus inhibition from overdosing or prolonged courses of peptides. I found a study showing that the immune system perceives peptides as antigens, which depletes the thymus, and this is detrimental to longevity. Therefore, I try not to overuse peptides at all and consider a course of no more than 8 days if I'm healthy and using them for prevention. If ill, a 10-day course can be used and repeated after some time (2-4 months).
Also, after any peptide course, I use thymus peptides to support it, as peptides from other organs suppress the thymus. Primarily, these are natural thymus extracts: the injectable Timalin (Тималин) and the oral Vladonix (Владоникс). Note that the Timalin I use is not the one you were planning to buy in a group purchase on this forum; the one I use is a genuine thymus extract, not a synthetic counterfeit.
Also regarding doses: some peptide manufacturers sell them with a recommended daily dose of 3 micrograms (not milligrams!), which is very low for natural peptides. At the same time, the course for such drugs is indicated for several months. These sellers have probably found an optimal dose and course length to avoid negative effects on the thymus. Of course, the effect with such doses and course length will take much longer to manifest, but it's likely much safer.
