What B Vitamins absorb through the skin?

Hi, I have acne and just bad skin in general and I was wondering what B vitamins absorb through the skin and what are the best for the skin? I have had success lately with acne just using soap and exfoliating with a face cloth however I was thinking about buying vitamin powder and just mixing it with water and applying it to my face before bed. I was thinking about Biotin.

P.S. have you tried minocycline for acne ? 

 

I am not looking for oils because I am not looking to moisturize, I am just looking to buy vitamin powder, mix it with water, and rub it into the skin, kind've how like salt water at the beach is therapeutic for the skin. No I haven't tried minocycline, but maybe I will try an antibiotic.

Apparently Biotin does not absorb through the skin. I'm thinking Vitamin A Palmitate might because a lot of people in the comment section are using it for topical purposes, that doesn't mean it works though.

For your purpose vitamin B3 and/or B5 are best, I can't guarantee they will solve your problem but when talking about B vitamins for acne those are the ones.

 

You might try glycolic acid 10% once a day everyday, it works quite well and it is inexpensive.

 

You might try a paste of baking soda and water, rub on skin and let it there as a mask for about 30 minutes, once or twice a week may suffice.

 

You might try onion juice, rub on skin everyday before bed, rinse in the morning.   

 

Avoid topical oils of any kind, some are less comedogenic than others (emu and coconut, for example) but still in case of acne aren't recommendable.

 

I would leave topical vitamin A as last since can be nasty, there are better, safer and cheaper alternatives as the ones mentioned above.

You dont need any vitamin b on your face. I can guarantee you, you will be acne free in just few weeks with this combo,

 

Supplements,

 

Active b complex (coenzyme)

 

Vitamin c (3 grams per day 1g/4h)

 

Zinc glycinate 30 mg per day

 

Vitamin A - palmitate (fish liver oil) 20.000 ui per day for 1 week, then 10.000 ui per week.

 

For topical,

 

Get this oils - (1/4 oz from all would be more then enough)

Acne is the result of an oily skin (which tends to clog pores and sebaceous glands ducts leading to bacterial infections, usually of hormonal cause), adding more oil isn't smart regardless the marvelous proprieties an oil might have.

Not all acne, some of them are result of lack of sebum - dry skin caused by over washing, or drying agents. In turn, later on - your glands overproduce sebum hence the oily skin. I had the same issues, adding oil to an oily skin is actually a good thing, you skin will stop producing so much sebum.

 

Avocado oil is the most penetrating oil with very little chance to cause pore clogging, same for the CO2 extracts, they are used in tiny amounts and with the avocado the delivery is amazing. Number 1 rule for oily skin, is to stop using any soap or washing product, you can wash it 1 time in 1 week and thats all, water is enough.

Drying agents are the worst, terrible, and the most popular on the market. Though I was using olive oil for a while and did see some results, but it doesn't get rid of acne scars. Exfoliating is the best way, but you want your skin to be nourished while doing it as well which is why I asked about vitamin powder mixed with water, perhaps I will buy the vitamins and minerals you listed and not the oils and exfoliate. We sound like girls but it is just a natural issue, it is basically the same if you had like eczema and wanted to get rid of it.

Yeah but you gotta kill bacteria. So I used soap everyday. I remember when I wasn't use soap just water to wash off oil and was moisturizing with olive oil, it didn't work.

I agree, exfoliating is best. You need to dry it out but not too much. But the skin also needs to be nourished.

I like your optimism I will buy the supplements. I'm not sold on the oils though. I have heard a lot about zinc. I already take 3 grams of Vitamin C per day. On a side note sun and salt water at the beach works really well.

As you wish my friend, i'm telling you from personal experience. The bacteria you talk about, will be killed like ez mode from the oils.

 

But with the oils your not getting rid of acne scarring by exfoliating. It is better to let the skin get off and let new skin grow back. I will look into the oils though.

The oils will regenerate your skin, like nothing else, and will destroy the acne - wounds. If you want to lover the risk, limit the oils to black seed, turmeric, blue chamomile. I will tell you how to mix them and use them, just get the avocado as well for carrier. AND STOP using any soap on your face!

 

Exfoliate with honey - (raw) and water! let it sit around 10 mins first, then rinse trougly, and ALWAYS dub your face with cleanest and most soft tissue/cloth, do not leave your face totally dry or totally wet! it should be just tiny bit vet before you apply the oils, and always after shower!

 

You will use the oils internally as well, go get them you will thank me later.

Oh internally as well, I think you are on to something there. Acne can be caused by unhealthy oils as well probably.

I will buy oils. I did some research on them. What is the purpose of a carrier agent?

Also what about just washing your face with oil in the shower then rinsing? I think it will probably have the same benefit. I am looking at rosehip seed oil.

No its not the same at all. You will use the oils in a special mix, before bed. Carrier dilutes the oils, anything more then 0.5-5% (MAX) will irritate you, this are extremely concentrated oils. The oil must be refind avocado oil from reliable brand!

I'd suggest you try Azelaic Acid. You should be able to find it in a pharmacy - get the leave on Gel (>10% concentration), NOT a foaming wash as the acid requires time to work. It has equivalent effectiveness to benzyl peroxide without the side effects - this study goes through a variety of alternatives for Acne treatment. I'm presuming your acne is not mild, otherwise there are other alternatives as well;

(Obviously just treating the symptoms, but there's no easy way to identify the exact cause of acne in each individual)

Thank you, I will check that out. I think Dazed is correct and not dazed. I used to put olive oil on my face and it helped a lot. I wouldn't say I have bad acne but rather bad skin from acne and blemishes that won't go away and not healthy skin. Though I do get breakouts as well.

Okay so avacado as the carrier. Then mixing it with black seed, turmeric, blue chamomile, not all together though. So if I may ask what is the proper ratio? 

Also just out of curiosity how come you can't just use black seed, turmeric, blue chamomile with no carrier? Isn't the more potent the better for oils? 

Also what I am I washing my face with just water?

Thank you, I will check that out. I think Dazed is correct and not dazed. I used to put olive oil on my face and it helped a lot. I wouldn't say I have bad acne but rather bad skin from acne and blemishes that won't go away and not healthy skin. Though I do get breakouts as well.

All together, yes. Proper ratio is, in 50ml avocado oil, you put 5 drops of turmeric CO2 total extract,. 10 drops of black seed oil, and size of a 2x matchstick top/ blue chamomile, you will need to stir/shake the solution hard, since the blue chamomile is in like gel, not liquid.

 

No its not better, i was thinking the same, and failed hard many times with the oils, do not use more then 0.5-2% for best results.

 

20 drops are 1ml, for a reference since the turmeric stain you will use just a tiny amount. You will also need,

 

Vitamin C, 2-3 grams per day.

 

Vitamin A palmitate, ~ 25.000 ui per day for 1 week then 10.000 ui per day for 1 month.

 

Zinc glycinate, 30mg per day.

 

Active b complex  - 1x day.

 

Selenium - 100 mcg day (methyl selenocystine)

 

L lysine - 2 grams per day.

All oils are comedogenic to some extent, some more than others but if one is somehow toward comedogenic already oils aren't a smart choice.

It is, but is a little irritating, if you want to pick more then those 3 we mentioned, then get tee tree + boswellia carteri + Calendula both CO2.

 

Oh okay, I will look into it. I am not sure yet what I will buy. Also avacado oil has a comedogenic rating of 3.
