I bought a good supply of tianeptine a few months ago for the purpose of repairing supposed damage done to my hippocampus when I was on accutane. I'm 20 years old, took accutane 3 years ago, the problem is im in no way close to being depressed. I'm just wondering if this is a safe drug to take and what the concerns should be according to my situation.

I saw one case report (it's on pubmed) relaying the experience of a patient who massively overdosed on tianeptine, I'm pretty sure she was taking hundreds of milligrams per day. (recommended dose is 37.5 mg/day, taken in 12.5 mg doses three times). The case report indicated no problems with this dose aside from the fact that it was obviously beyond what she was prescribed. Based upon that, and all the other studies I have seen and anecdotal reports I have heard, it doesn't seem to me that tianeptine is something one need worry about in any context. I presently take 25.0-37.5 mg/day in combination with several other medications and supplements and have observed no negative side effects.

Don't underestimate the importance of other lifestyle choices in your goal of optimizing brain function as well, e.g. intensive 5-times-a-week cardiovascular exercise is a sound addition that will do some or all of what tianeptine can do.

This is a bit off topic, but where do you get your tianeptine, John?

IAS, but I might try airsealed.com next time since they're less expensive by 15% or so.

You're right, a whopping 33% less expensive in U.S. dollars. To be fair they aren't selling it branded as Stablon, instead: Coaxil. I'm going to assume it's just as effective.

If you go to Serviers page you'll see that they market tianeptine under brands Coaxil, Stablon and Tatinol. Coaxil is exactly same as Stablon, same box, same everything just different name. Both are made in France.
There is also Stablon by Servier made in China, sold at some online stores.
