Hello, my name is Nicolas Chernavsky and I'm a translator. I'm writing this because, together with another translator, Nina Torres Zanvettor, I'm translating from English into Portuguese the book Ending Aging, written by the British biogerontologist Dr. Aubrey de Grey with Michael Rae, both from the SENS Research Foundation. I believe that you, from LongeCity, possibly have already heard about Dr. de Grey approach about the reparation of the damages at the cellular and molecular level which constitute aging. Besides the original version in English, the book Ending Aging already has published versions in German, Spanish, Russian and Italian. Portuguese is the sixth most spoken language in the world, spoken by about 275 million of people.

In order to make the translation and to publish de e-book in Portuguese, Nina and I, with Dr. de Grey approval, decided to use a crowdfunding system. Thus, in June of 2017, we launched a project in the largest Brazilian crowdfunding platform, Catarse.me, in which we state that in June of 2018, the book Ending Aging translated into Portuguese in the e-book version will be sent to all the contributors. Dr. Aubrey de Grey recorded a video supporting the project. The link to watch this video (in which Nina and I participate as well), can be found at the end of this paragraph. Also, the website Fight Aging! and the Life Extension Advocacy Foundation (LEAF) published news articles about the project (LEAF also put an interview with Nina and I). The links to their news articles are below as well, together with other links related to the project.

- Link to the crowdfunding project in Catarse.me platform (information in English is available at the bottom of the project page):

- Link to Dr. Aubrey de Grey's video (in which Nina and I participate as well) in support of the project:

- Link to the Fight Aging! website news article about the translation:

All the work of translation and the costs of the e-book publishing will be paid with the funds raised in this crowdfunding. Thus, we would like to ask for the contribution of LongeCity or anyone who could do it on a personal basis. In order to contribute to the crowdfunding in the Catarse.me platform, it's necessary to go through the following steps (since it's mainly in Portuguese):
1) Access https://www.catarse....de_ending_aging
2) Click on the green donation link: "Apoiar este Projeto".
3) Choose an amount on the next page, and click on the green continue link.
4) Now, enter email and password, then enter or click on the green button. You'll be taken back to the website's home page, but now you'll be logged in. So, go back to the project page and repeat the above two steps.
5) Now you have a form page for name, address and payment method. Go to the country pulldown, and select an English-language country. The text will change into English, making the rest of this easy.
6) Finish filling out the information to make the contribution.

We already translated the two first chapters into Portuguese and published them online, and those can be read in the following link: https://endingagingo...o.wordpress.com . The link to the project on Facebook is https://www.facebook...22477488258382/ .
