i'm the third day on Resveratrol ((Polygonum cuspidatum) extract - contain 20% trans resveratol)

... i take 100mg of Resveratrol in the morning and the same with/at dinner - ((Polygonum cuspidatum) extract - contain 20% trans resveratol)

... this morning i drank around 500ml green tea in the morning and had 99% blood oxygination before taking the resveratrol, immidiately after ingesting my morning dose of around 100mg Resveratrol my blood oxygination went DOWN to around 97%
...

... any ideas about that ???

All the best

A 20% resveratrol extract is considered low quality; you are taking many other phytochemicals besides resveratrol, including emodin which is going to induce intestinal discomfort and diarrhea at any reasonable dose. So it is not possible to say if your results are due to resveratrol itself, or another or combination of the substances in your extract.'

The paper's abstract is interesting, but I do not currently have access to the full paper. I do not know the concentration of resveratrol that showed these effects in red blood cells. Moreover, so many such papers are reporting in vitro results at concentrations that are difficult if not pimpossible to achieve from oral dosing.

Hi Maxwatt,

thx for your answer !

... i didn't know emodin before - for those who are interested in that, see :
http://healthproduct...ol-supplements/

... to be more pecise i take 1/2 of a capulse in the morning and at dinner.

... reason for the low dose see :
http://www.lef.org/m...veratrol_04.htm

The Label states that each one(capsule) has 200mg Resveratrol and 20%(40mg) of that are
trans resveratol - so one 200mg capulse has 160mg resveratol and 40mg trans resveratol.

My scale shows 260mg weight for the full complete capsule, its from PureEncaps see : http://www.pureencap...Resveratrol.pdf

... they state :

"Hypo-allergenic Nutritional Supplements
Pure Encapsulations is committed to producing the most complete line of science-based nutritional supplements. Products contain absolutely no hidden fillers, coatings, artificial colors or other excipients that would disrupt or diminish the bioavailability of the ingredients. Additionally, formulas are free of wheat, gluten, preservatives and hydrogenated oils."
http://www.pureencapsulations.com/

... as far as im aware thats a pretty good brand ...

... would apriciate your view on that ...

Interesting. I meditate 20 minutes a day while doing lots of breathing exercises. Over a long period of experimentation I've noticed that if I take 99per resveratrol before doing this I feel a lot better after. Doing this without resveratrol I get what can only be described as pressure/foggy head - a very over-oxyginated feeling.

The product you linked to is an extract from Polygonum cuspidatum containing only 20% resveratrol. It is the cheapest, lowest quality extract a manufacturer can buy. It is almost guaranteed to cause severe diarrhea at any but the most minimal dose. Steer clear. If you are interested in taking resveratrol look for a 98% or 99% pure extract. If you are looking for the Chinese medicinal herb, Hu Zhang, then a 20% extract, at low doses, would have similar effects. But this herb is never taken in isolation, only combined with several other herbs.

One can purchase a cheap meter to measure blood oxygenation at most drug stores. I'd like to see what the results are.

FWIW, I and a number of others use resveratrol and find it improves our ability to perform aerobic sports such as cycling or running on a treadmill. This is not consistent with reduced blood oxygenation, though it is possible such reduction does not apply when exercising. Anyone want to get a meter and measure their O2 levels before and after taking resveratrol?
