1. I checked CRON-o-meter and I have good in all stuff but sodium, potassium, vit E, D and iron. The four first I can handle (E and D as supplements though, but very good supplements), but iron. What to eat? The day I checked, I ate 150 grams (100 is considered a normal serving) red meat (from cows that only eats grass and herbs, and do not get hormones or antibiotics) for dinner. I also ate some nuts, 70 grams of spinach and 90 grams of broccoli. I couldn't up those stuff more without either getting to many calories, or feel bad from overfilled stomach.

How to get more iron? I have a problem with iron, and already have to eat 100 mg every day to get optimal blood tests (ferritin of 110, hb of 140). Maybe my low intake is part of that problem.

2. My stomach is upset since 3-4 weeks. I can't figure why! I eat more of a MSM supplement, and got kefir grains. Now I am testing if it is laktos. When I started to eat like now (but more) my IBS, gas, stomach pain and so on, just disappeared instantly. When eating less, my stomach usually gets even better - "gas-vise".

I sure can say it is NOT very nice to have an extreme gas-stomach when shopping!

I have no pains or diarrea though, so it is not IBS. Just gas (and it smells like "egg hmmm...", wich is why I suspect the MSM anyway). Do you have more knowledge or experiences about this?

3. How will CRON impact (correct word?) on AGA, male or female pattern hair loss? That one could loose hair from malnutrition (that is not an issue if eating correct CRON), to little energy or rapid weight loss I can understand. But will it be the opposite when it comes to AGA? Is CRON a good thing for that? I have very thick hair, but starts to get small hairs on top (miniatyrization), as do almost everybody in my age (it's like everybody has hair changes, but not all will have so bad so the scalp will show or anyone will react). I am afraid of female pattern hair loss, and therefore I am interested in how CRON will influence on this nasty kind of aging (hate hair changes).

An interested thing is that when I visited the doctor last time, he asked if I was vegan. My blood work showed that. Haha, NO, I answered, I eat lots of meat, often red.

He then said I should eat more red meat and salt! :D CRON-o-meter showed he is probably right! I often feel fluid drained, and have slightly too little of sodium and potassium. I bought mineral salt (60 % sodium, 40 % potassium, just right for me if I should go by CRON-o-meter) and will start salting more.

When it comes to red meat, I often think it is not dangerous, if you buy the right meat. Ordinary red meat comes from animals that do not eat what they are supposed to. And what happens to us if we eat wrong? Would red meat be good if it comes from animals that do not eat the best?

So I buy only meat that comes from animals that eat only grass and herbs. No loads of grains. And blood work did show very very low of stuff that rises if one eats lot of red meat. So low that he, as said, thought I was vegetarian/vegan. Don't know the word for that test, but directly translated, it is "urine acid".

I also think red meat in form of salami, sausages and such, is no good. I would welcome a study on red meat, where one focused on meat from animals who ate grass and herbs, and got to be outside and not in factory like buildings. (Stress is no good for meat quality either, I think).

I am starting to think it is my exclusion of milk from my coffee, that is the cause of my gassy stomach. What to do... I love coffee. I drink boiled coffee (not brewed, boiled the old fashined way), maybe like Nescafé would be better?

I exluded MSM and laktos this morning. Got gas. Drank coffee by 12:00, got very much gas.

For more iron, I bought chicken liver. Ate 166 grams. Checked CRON-o-meter. 81 % of daily value... Not so much. I can't understand how to get enough iron in my diet. The liver also gave 780 % of vitamin A. Not so good. Beef liver showed lover iron but even higher vitamin A. I will continue chicken liver once a week, but it gives not much iron. Have to eat it every day to get effect from that iron.

Maybe there are some cuisines that tastes good, and are easy enough to make, with blood. That should be good for iron. [checking] YES! 100 grams of blood, gives 344 % of iron ^_^ Must find some recopy...

eat less grains (eliminate gluten for a month and see if there is any difference) and eat more vegetables and fruits. also, vitamin c is important for iron absorption.

I eat very little gluten already (but not none). About 2 small slices of sour dough rye hard bread (or one . I ate like this for years, and never had any problems. But I can try it anyway. If I eat more vegetables and fruits, I get bad IBS. Especially the fruit gives me massive problems. Vegetables is eaten best if cooked (I make it wok-like, or steamed) for me, so I don't get gas and pains.

My stomach seems to be a "gas prone one" :(

The gassy stomach starts 30 minutes after breakfast (no gluten there), 30 minutes after lunch (the little gluten I eat) and 30 minutes after the coffee I drink 1 hour after dinner (no gluten). This is why I am starting to think it is the coffee. Before the gas started, I had milk in the coffee. Maybe the milk (the fat or something else, will it work with low fat milk..?) is cutting the worst off tannin or something?

Another problem that makes the stomach problems hard to spot, is that I seem to get stomach problems when the rest of the family has colds or flues. I never gets that, but uses to have a bad stomach at the same time. Some doctors told me that it is possible to get colds/flues like that. Feels a bit strange though.

When I started to eat like now, some years ago, my stomach problems stopped immediately. Now when I also eat less, the problems should be even smaller.

About the iron, I already take vitamin C together with my iron supplement and together with my dinner. I also puts lemon juice straight from the lemon, on the dinner. Often eat an orange afterwards too. I still has to eat 100 mg iron supplement a day to keep ferritin and hb high.

what about your B12 and folate intake. Those can cause low hb. If you're planning to supplement I recommned methylcobalamin and methylfolate.

Hi again. I get enough B12 and folate (due to CRON-o-meter). My homocystein is 4-5. I ate methylcobalamin before, but has stopped. I am eating B vitamin combo från Thorne or Innate by now.
