What happens if you practice calorie restriction and your partner doesn't?

Many here at LongeCity are young and likely to be looking for a relationship or in a relationship of some kind. Perhaps it is your first love. I hope your partner is passionate about optimal health like you are. As the years roll by, it can make a huge difference in your quality of life together if one of you ages much faster than the other.

So I thought you would like to hear a true story of a young guy ( he was 20) who fell in love with a ravishingly beautiful woman -- he calorie restricted, she not. I wrote it up in a blog that can be freely accessed.

This was inspired by an amazing new novel, " The Mistress" by E.G Purnell, where calorie restriction is part of the lifestyle of one of its characters.

If you buy this book, which we think is a must read for CR Way travelers, make sure to read what she thinks about epigenetics. It was as if she could read Meredith's and my mind about how the CR Way is developing as a holistic way of living to minimize epigenetic influences that accelerate aging.

Wishing you extraordinary health,

I was just a little creeped out by the blog post referenced above. What if two people marry, and one gets breast cancer (rather than old age)? That also can make a huge difference in your quality of life together. Should the healthier partner find a better match, like the guy in the blog post above? Sickness and death happen, as does age. Let's fight them, but if your partner fall sick (or old), then you find out what you and your relationship are really made of.

Another thing to ponder is that if the woman in the story practised CR, she probably would not be "ravishingle beautiful" for long. Evolution has tricked us to be aroused by stimuli that suggest extreme fertility, and CR can take the BMI clearly under the preferred range.

IMHO the most successful calorie restrictors have higher BMIs. You should attend a CR Society Conference sometime. The Ladies look Terrific! Sure some overdo it, but that's not the norm.

Here's a picture of Meredith with Dr. Stephen Spindler. She is 66 years old.
