hi

i began to take dextrose whenever i need an intellectual boost and it is VERY effective. (20-30 g, sometimes more)
i used to take fruits but dextrose get to your brain much faster. And because i loved fruits i used to take too much of it. Dextrose is also obviously much cheaper.

I think i get this effect because i take a lot of nootropics that increase brain metabolism in the brain.

ps: i don't get fat

We'll see in a couple of months. Just kidding, just kidding. But seriously, if you take 30g of extra dextrose and eat a lot, and all you do is study and don't exercise, it would be a bad combination.
Dextrose is potent weight gainer (simple carb), so it is important to burn those extra calories.

well i do 30min - 2H of cardio every morning and i try to eat a minimum (low calorie and easy to digest)
sometimes i even only take protein powder, fruits and dextrose. In this case, because my body doesn't have to digest much, i can take more stimulants to compensate the low metabolism. As a result i feel great :)

So dextrose is more potent than saccharose? Is it less harmful too? And can I replace saccharose with dextrose in my diet?
That's kinda interesting because saccharose is harmful and poorly effective so that could be a good idea as dextrose is more and more used as an alternative.
Btw, where do you buy dextrose sugar?

To put it simply, dextrose is just glucose, the brain fuel. on the other hand saccharose is a mix of fructose and glucose.
Dextrose is use before and after sport and i use it has a brain fuel, but you need to take it alone with water. (or protein powder)
If you want a sugar with a dessert, saccharose is sweeter.

i take supplements like cq10, SOD, piracetam, ginkgo, vinpocetine... that increase brain metabolism, so maybe it's why i need a lot of glucose.

i buy it here http://www.myprotein...oducts/dextrose

Yep it's very cheap indeed. Saccharose or sucrose might be sweeter but I'll try dextrose and if it's rather good I will keep it in my diet instead of normal sugar.
For the moment I use stevia as sugar but I wonder if dextrose has more benefits.

don't get me wrong, this is not a nootropic in itself :)
If 3 or 4 hours after a meal you begin to have difficulty to concentrate, it is probably because of low blood sugar. Then it's a good time to take some dextrose with water.

It's essentially much like sugar, what's a not dangerous dose of sugar? As long as you have plenty of minerals/vitamins, 30-40g of extra sugar is OK.

During intense study, to avoid high pic of blood sugar, I put 50g or more in a bottle with water and then i take small sip from time to time.
I don't think 40g in one shot is the best idea, unless you are really in hypoglycemia.

that's the best idea, to keep your brain constantly with sugar influx. taking a huge dose at once is the best way to get diabetes.

A 330ml can of soda contains between 30-40 grams of sugar, as do a large piece of cake or a bag of candy.
It's definitely not too healthy to consume those a lot, especially when lacking healthy other nutrients, but every once a while isn't exactly crazy.

yes sure, i do it sometimes :)
but if you put 40g in a bottle, better at least to drink half of it first and then wait for a while to drink the rest :)

Dextrose is supposed to be better for you than fructose. Dextrose is less fattening atleast by a long shot.

you'll get insulin dysregulation, high blood pressure, metabolic decline, etc over time.
do a sugar wash out then take sugar. i prefer non-sugar for creativity, but i like the energy.
