Hi, I'm new to longecity. I've decided as a way to contribute to these forums, I'm going to keep a log of my use and experimentation with a bulk supply of modafinil.
I'm sure a few of you guys have heard of sunnootropic.com. They are a chinese chemical supplier/tradehouse/pharma(?). They sell bulk supplies of nootropic drugs like the racetams, DMAE, resveratrol, etc. sunnootropic belongs to vosun chemicals.
About a month ago, I was looking through their catalogue and happen to see that they were selling modafinil at the outrageously low price of 100g for 140-something. When I first saw this, I told myself it was too good to be true. I told my girlfriend about it and she couldn't believe it either. Her and I were actually looking for a cheap supply of modafinil for different personal reasons: I, probably like a lot of you, am trying to constantly improve my cognition and motivation, after I hit what I call my low point, through means greater than self; so far, it has been a subjective hit. She, on the other hand, has been struggling with depression and anxiety issues, but the one condition which scares us the most is her depersonalization. Her last incident was about 3 months ago, but she can tell when things in her surroundings might trigger her "tides." We use "tides" to describe depersonalizing, because the word "depersonalization" itself would sometimes trigger an incident, how comical right? Not really lol, but we've been able to manage the incidents well, back when they used to occur more often.
Anyways, after doing a little research, I found unfortunately only one semi-large study where 237 individuals with one or more psychiatric conditions were given modafinil. Some of the subjects were given modafinil concomitantly with their other outside-of-study medications. It was noted at the end that a subgroup of individuals with depression and depersonalization showed an improvement based on CGI-S scores.
Now that were back up to speed, we purchased 90 grams from vosun chemicals for $200.00 ($0.45/gram). The cost was increased, unsure as to why (maybe it's the 140-160 plus shipping costs), and they also took modafinil out of their online catalog. The reason behind that was paypal's inability to process exchanges with modafinil. Anyways, 90 grams is outrageous. If I took 200mg a day, I would have enough to last me 450 days!

The COA and the specifications are about as trustworthy as Mitt Romney. They ARE a chemical production company, they DO sell bulk quantities of compounds, but are they the real deal? My guess is yes, but I'm not sold on the quality.
Here is where you guys can help me out. I want to be able to test the quality of the substance through basic chemistry, preferably through means available at home. I do also have access to a chemistry lab where I may be able to convince my prof to let me use his supplies. One thing is certain, I am trying a dose of 200 mg before my girlfriend, and probably before we determine the specificity of the modafinil. So if anyone has any advice for verifying the purity, I'd greatly appreciate it. And on my end, I will tell you whether or not purchasing modafinil from vosun was worth it
