Sally Fallon of the Weston A Price foundation, promotes a diet based on butter, cheese, grease, lard, bacon, eggs and cream. Her picture is listed below in an attempt to ask the question: does Sally Fallon have cushing-syndrome?

What cushing-syndrome is, is basically metabolic-syndrome with a hormonal and lipid profile indicating distress (high cortisol, insulin-resistance, high levels of cholesterol, triglycerides and FFA’s). One of the classic symptoms of cushing-syndrome is what is called “moon-face”; a puffy swollen face driven by systemic inflammation.

So does Sally Fallon have cushing-syndrome? Let the pictures below speak for themselves.

If she is in fact Cushingoid, she's probably taking corticosteroids. People don't get Cushing's from eating a high fat diet.

Cushing looks very much different, especially in the face and the neck!

Fallon is just ordinarily fat in a pretty disgusting way. Saturated fatty acids are known to primarily cause central obesity, so...

You're right. Saturated-fats are resistant to oxidation, so much so, that the body is unable to oxidize them. In order to burn the saturated-fats, the body must first convert them to monounsaturated-fats. The body sends the saturated-fats straight into the adipocytes, where they are stored until they are desaturated by the delta-9-desaturase enzyme. Since saturated-fats are highly attracted to the adipocytes, eating a diet high in saturated-fats will overstuff the adipocytes and will lead to ectopic-fat accumulation (central obesity). Interestingly enough, polyunsaturated-fats inhibit delta-9-desaturase.
