I recently got diagnosed with ADD (+ Depression and minor Social Anxiety) , and shortly after I started Ritalin but it didn't really work so I switched to Dextro-Amphetamine (Dexedrine).

I have read a lot about the dangers of Dextro-Amphetamine (that's how I discovered this forum) and about supplementation.

But before buying expensive supplements or nootropics I want to get the basics (nutrition, exercise, sleep, meditation and basic/cheap supplements) 100% right.

This is what I have got so far:

Goals:
-Improve General Health, ADD and Cognitive Performance
    -Harm Preventing/Reducing
    -Same medication effectiveness everyday
-Keep Urinary Ph stable and around neutral during the day
    -Preventing/Slowing down Tolerance

Supplements:
    -Creatine
    -Omega 3
    -Vitamin D
    -Magnesium Malate
    -Vitamin B Complex
    -Multivitamin
    -Melatonin

-(CoQ10, will buy this soon and take it in the evening)

Medication:

     -Dextro-Amphetamine (Dexedrine)

Morning:

    -Dextro-Amphetamine (10 mg)
    -Creatine (4 gr.)
    -Vitamin D (2.500iU)
    -Whey + Milk (25 gr. + 250 ml)
-Eggs + Bread + Olive Oil + Butter
    -Banana

During the Day:

    -Dextro-Amphetamine (10 mg)
    -Magnesium (150 mg Elemental)
    -Banana
    -Fruit (Apples, Pears)
    -Yoghurt

Dinner (7-8 PM):

    -Multivitamin
    -Vitamin B Complex
    -Omega 3 (3000 mg, EPA 570 mg + DHA 400 mg)
    -Orange Juice (500ml)
    -Chicken + Rice + Vegetables

Evening/Before Bed

-Remaining Calories: High Fat and/or High Carb meals
    -Whey + Milk (25 gr. + 250 ml)
    -Magnesium (300 mg Elemental)
    -Melatonin (2 mg)
    -Zinc (15 mg)

-(CoQ10, will buy this soon and take it in the evening)

Should I change something?

Any basic/cheap supplements I should add?

For now I will folow this regimen also on non amphetamine days, obviously I can eat/take many things whenever I want during the day, but should I add any supplements? (I have L-Tyrosine and Vitamin C here, not sure if it would make sense taking these on off days)

Supplements I will try or look into in the future:

  • ALCAR
  • NAC
  • Ginko Biloba
  • Bacopa
  • Memantine
  • Alpha-GPC
  • Uridine
  • L-Theanine
  • DMAE
  • ALA
  • Various Nootropics

Probably forgot and/or will add things to this list, but for now I will stick to basics and take small steps from there on.

Suggestions are welcome! :)

Looks like you've got your basis well-covered supplement wise!  :)

Having gone through the typical tolerance issues with Ritalin myself, and subsequently starting Adderall, my advice would be put a very strong emphasis on cardiovascular exercise (or, as I think it ought to be deemed: neurovascular exercise, since that's what it's all about... (bulking up the brain's vascular infrastructure)).

I highly recommend using a pedometer and ensuring that you move at least 10,000 steps a day. I've never had a day where I've gotten 10,000 steps and the meagre 10mg Adderall hasn't delivered it's wonderfully productive, spirit-lifting glory.

Best of luck and keep us posted in a month or two with your inevitable success... :)

Be careful with melatonin. Most people seem to forget that it is still a hormone and you can easily over do it. If you wake up feeling groggy after using it, take a smaller dose or none at all.

You might find pqq beneficial as an antioxidant. Prolonged stimulant use will cause more oxidative stress than your body is used to. Tyrosine and tryptophan might also be beneficial for keeping your neurotransmitter levels adequate for chronic use. I wouldn't recommend taking one without the other for more than a few days though.

While we do know a lot about amphetamines we aren't quite sure how to predict it's potential harm to a human. A few studies have suggested a small dose of ritalin is a good way to prevent damage. Use it only when you need it, eat enough food (get lots of protein and veggies), drink plenty of water, and ensure you get at least 8 hrs of sleep.

If tolerance is an issue (and it will be if you take it long enough) it could help to supplement with NMDA receptor antagonists. Magnesium, DXM(found in cough syrup, also not the best on your body), and mementine are most common.

Just make sure you are not overdosing Vitamin B6 (max 100mg/day) as it can cause lasting nerve damage/neuropathy. Also, taking magnesium with zinc actually prevents their absorption. Otherwise looks like an awesome stack!!

Interesting. I wonder why they are commonly sold together..

Make sure your multivitamin does NOT contain copper or iron.

Do a search for synaptic pruning. Amphetamines cause synaptic overgrowth and pruning them back is likely very beneficial. Caffeine, curcumin and reservatol have this effect IIRC.

What's bad about copper?
