Hi there, so I have just started experimenting with nootropics, and I'm not sure what's happening to me.

I am taking 500mg Choline Bitartrate as powder every morning. Have been doing that for the last 5 days.

On Saturday my Noopept pills arrived. I ordered them from thoughtfoods, and took my first one on Saturday. I took it whole (orally) right after a meal. On Sunday I took half a pill sub-lingually, or at least I tried, as it didn't really dissolve that well. So I decided to take the other half (about 2 hours later) in powder form, so I crushed it and rubbed it on my gums and inner cheeks. Today, I decided to go back to taking it orally since the whole sub-lingual process is very impractical imo.

I took half a pill at 6:30 and the second half at 9:30.

Effects:

Day 1: Felt more focused, spent 2 hours on an essay with no problems. Felt great, no problems whatsoever. Effects seemed to wear off after 4-5 hours. But I still felt a little more focused than usual even in the late evening. (might be placebo)

Day 2: Nothing, I just felt nothing at all. I figured that it might be because I didn't take it orally.

Day 3: after first half - don't feel as focused as on day 1 but still much better than day 2, effects wore off after about 2 hours

second half - I was hoping to get the focus back up, but the opposite happend. I felt tired and couldn't focus. Infact I was overwhelmed by noises and really stressed. (note that I am a student, and there was a lot going on around me in class)

Conclusion: I feel like taking one pill orally at once was great. Now I know you can't really say anything about effects after three days, especially when you have tested multiple ways of taking the meds. But I am a little concerned now. See, I have ADHD and the problem that my brain can't filter unimportant stuff like noises out has always been a problem in my life, but today it felt like Noopept amplified it to an extend where I had to leave the room because I was so stressed.

I will go back to taking 1 pill orally tomorrow, but was wondering if any of you had similar experiences.

Noopept needs a good source of choline i.e. Alpha GPC or CDP-Choline (at least for some ppl if not the majority). The effects you've mentioned could be because of inadequate choline supply. Choline bitartrate is a weaker source of choline and may not be at the level required by nootropics.

Should I increase my dose of choline bitartrate until I get something like alpha-GPC? I read that 500mg choline bitartrate are really just 250mg of choline.

It may not work as straightforward. Choline bitartrate needs to be processed by the body and not all is able to cross the blood-brain barrier. Higher quantities may also give you some side effects such as dizziness.
