1) What is the right technique to administer nasal drops and get the most effect from it? As far as I know one should not snort the drops, right?

 

2) It is really hard to not have the pipette touch the nose when administering the drops. Since the pipette goes back into the solution after use, could I risk contaminating/degrading the Semax solution with bacterias from my nose/nostrils? I assume that since they make it as a nasal drop solution it should not be the case, or what?

 

3) I could also see if I could find a spray from a regular nasal spray for running nose that fits on the Semax bottle. Problem is that the straw from that nasal spray will be in the solution at first. I could wipe it with alcohol of course, but the inside of the straw should still have a bit in it. Could I also this way risk degrading or ruining the Semax by adding that bit of solution from the other nasal spray.

You can buy new empty nasal spray bottles for near to nothing from China, check them out on eBay.

 

The issue will be to get the exact amount of compound delivered, drops are easier to measure accurately.

 

Tilt your head backwards and with the help of a mirror let a drop in the nostril from a distance, gravity will do the rest.

 

Why one shouldn't snort the drop?

 

If overdone it might lead some to dribble down the throat which might be undesirable but a gentle snort shouldn't be an issue, try with water drops to get the measure that works for you.

Thanks for your reply. Any thoughts on my worries about ruining the Semax with bacterias from the nose/nostril? I think I may already have done the damage. Took it again today, but had very little effect if any at all. Nothing like yesterday where I took it twice.

I don't know how much semax can be sensitive to bacteria, many compounds aren't, usually when a compound might be sensitive a preservative is added, therefore I doubt a contamination would be so fast acting...

 

Keep it in the fridge for good measure.

Alright. Yeah, I'm keeping it in the fridge as well. Just ordered 2 x 5 ml nasal spray bottles on a webshop. Shipping from China will take 15-25 days, so that's too long, but cheap it is indeed!
