I take for nearly 2 weeks Omega 3 Mood from Country Life expecting to see some change in my mood or improve my memory but don't feel anything yet.I take 2 softgels per day (1000mg EPA / 150mg DHA Total). Is this enough or should i increase the dose?

Also i would like to mention that i still have constipation problems although i changed brand and EPA/DHA ratio drastically.Previous fish oil was Natures Aid normal 180mg EPA/120 DHA per capsule x 2 per day.Source Naturals Magnesium Malate at 425mg or even 850mg doesn't seem to help to much, but vegetables or milk do better but these give me gas :( Maybe i should turn to other form of Magnesium? It is good for relaxing though especially before sleep.

I'd give it at least 4-6 weeks, but you could try 3 pills daily, and if that helps, always cut down later.

For constipation, mag citrate may work a little better than malate (maybe).

If a form of Magnesium helps with constipation issues does it mean it has lower bioavailability?

Now i ordered some Doctor's Best Chelated Magnesium Glycinate/Lycinate.Do you have any experience with this?

Mag glycinate is a good magnesium, although I'm not super fond of the bioperine in the Doctor's Best variety there. But it is known for not causing laxative issues, at least in most people.

I think citrate is decent as far as absorption -- anything besides oxide should be fine, and even oxide absorbs, probably better than most people think.

Mag citrate, however, is sometimes used specifically as a laxative, especially at high doses. Which is why a number of people can't use it, as unless you are constipated, that side effect isn't exactly so appealing.

I get 900mg of omega 3 everyday from 3 1000mg fish oil softgels. If I take less or skip even a day, I notice a slump in my mood. Omega 3 is an important precursor for the neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine.

Although fish oil might help some people with their mood, if you have serious mood issues/depression, I would look elsewhere.
