How to Win the Internet and Influence People?

If the New Atheists are winning, it has to be because they are owning the bestseller lists and making a very popular online presence (all of whom seem to communicate). I wonder how the life extension movement is measuring up against that?
I have only a limited idea of who's blogging, what organizations are still active (clearly I know some at least...), what the latest (preferably non self published) books are. I see Shannon Vyff and Natasha Vita More on Facebook (whose presences I greatly appreciate) and that's been the sum total of my connection. Those who go to conferences and actually connect in person may have better mileage here.
I think I shall make a list, find all the still active (and reasonably professional quality) sites and bloggers and books that I can. I suspect I am a decade behind in my reading.
