I haven't given up anything really since joining. I have added some stuff to my diet, though, and become healthier overall.
I probably need to give up alcohol, but I enjoy the occasional drink too much..

I gave up everything a fat kid would enjoy. The list of things that I gave up would be so long, it is much easier to list what I do eat.
Oats
Broccoli
Yam
Green Beans
Brown Rice
Carrots
Apples
Whey
Chicken Breast
Romaine Lettuce w/ Salad Dressing
I do not eat a single thing that is not listed above, so far I've seen remarkable changes in my mood, thinking, concentration, and body fat percentage. I lost over 100lbs from changing my diet so drastically.

Since I joined here, I have stopped eating/drinking:
- Fast food of any kind (pizza, hamburgers, french fries, etc.)
- Snacks, potato chips, candy, crisps, chocolate
- Ice cream
- Soft drinks, soda
- White bread
- Sugar (I avoid it as much as I can, although I can't force my parents to buy exactly the kind of food I want)
- High-fat stuff in general
- Cakes, pastries, tarts, cookies, biscuits
I never drink alcohol to begin with (because of health issues, plus I don't want to lose control of myself as I see drunk people doing. I have made it my vow to never, ever get drunk, and unless someone literally forces alcohol down my throat, I won't drink it.)
I still eat meat, though I plan on stopping or severely cutting back on it as soon as I get my own apartment (it's not easy convincing the rest of the family to also eat veggie food). Milk, cheese and other such products are also things I have not quit, for the same reasons.
On the other hand, I have introduced this into my diet, among other things:
- Whole-grain bread and cereals
- Green tea
- Supplements (vitamins, omega-3/fishliver oil)
- More fruit and vegetables
I would like to add resveratrol to my supplements, but as of now, I can't really afford it. Also, I plan on exercising a lot more in the very near future, as I don't do that a lot now.

Not much apparently, do you supplement ?
I get 49 grams of fat per day, which is 18% of my total calorie intake. I have to stay on a low-fat diet, I had my gallbladder taken out last year (because of my massive weight loss), and ever since then I am incapable of eating more than 10 grams of fat in one sitting or I get incredibly sick for 1-2 days.
You poor man.
I second this sentiment.
I wish I could eat as diverse as everyone else. But for some strange reason I became lactose intolerant, allergic to eggs and peanuts when I was 15. And no matter the amount of digestive enzymes, probiotics, detox or cleanses I do, nothing can restore my stomach to former glory. I was forced into this diet over time by health issues and other pressures. Oh well, I'm sure it for the best. I mean, atleast I can no longer eat foods that advance the aging process in a significant manner.

My allergies have gotten a lot fucking worse over the years too. I feel for you man ... especially when you take into account the negative effects constant inflammation has on other systems downstream.
I hear a new one-month immunotherapy treatment is in the works ...
ps. i hope to god your nametag isn't a bollywood reference

I'm not on here long but i've been on other health related sites for years. I gave up most non-fiber carbs, sugary food and drink, and processed food.
Currently i eat -
Vegetable - mostly raw, all kinds
Fruits - you name it, including durian and lots of berries, strawberries, blueberries, goji
meat - range free beef, chicken, bisson, and cage-free eggs
seafood - my fav, sashimi, tuna, wild salmon, sardines, trout, catfish, etc...
dairy - i'm lactose interlerant but i can drink raw milk like water. yum
grain - only sprouted whole grain bread, some oatmeal
oil - coconut, olive, almond, walnut, sesami, palm
beverage - lots of tea - green, white, red(rooibos), chrysanthemum, kombucha (fermented tea), water
and of course supplements.
cheat food - CPK pizza and sushi.

I have tried multiple beans, which for some strange reason never are properly digested. I used to be a big time lentils fan, ate it quite often. But now, I might as well shoot myself in the foot. Though when I do go a little wild and eat a tad bit off my target calories, I go for the quinoa. A lot of vegetables and fruits set something off with me, be it heart burn or headaches. I am however becoming less sensitive to these effects as time goes on. I've only been on a 'clean' diet for 2 years now, so it may take some time to readjust.
My nametag is no bollywood reference, lol. I had to google "the big b bollywood" to find out what you were talking about. [lol]

Sorry for you [huh]
A good reason to try to stick to slow weight loss and not eliminate fat from diet (necessary to help gallbladder contraction and bile excretion).
