It seems clear by now that Pomegranate Juice is effective at increasing testosterone ~24% in 2-3 weeks confirmed by two human and one rodent study and of lowering LDL and Ox-LDL, leading to increased arterial lumen size and reduction in cardiovascular events in an at risk population at 240 ml or 8 oz/day.
As discussed in the most extensive past Juice vs Extract discussion
https://www.longecit...ice-vs-extract/ - it's not yet clear that extracts have the above effects in humans or mice. One recent study showed that extract increased LDL compared to juice that as expected decrease it (in rodents, self made extract)
https://www.ncbi.nlm...les/PMC5348881/ part of the problem could be lack of standardization of the extract, the following study showed that only 5 out of 27 extracts had a comparable polyphenol composition to that of juice
https://pubs.acs.org....1021/jf9010017 (C16 is the LEF extract which passed).
Any convincing evidence that extracts having the same effects? Anyone done self experimentation tracking testosterone?
I'd like extracts to work, price wise it works out to be about the same as drinking juice (800 mg LEF extract/day vs 240 ml juice/day in bulk, 3.35 euro/liter in Germany bought in bulk), but you could possibly see better effects due to lack of fructose and it's more convenient.
