Ive done my share of binge drinking over the years and the withdrawals have gotten bad enough that after a heavy night out, im enticed to sip some more drinks to keep the withdrawals at bay. That strategy doesnt work all that well as I just tend to get drunk again and still have to deal with withdrawal the day after.
I tried out oxiracetam and had some interesting findings. If I take it the same day I drink, I dont seem to have withdrawal symptoms the next day. Absolutley none. bood pressure normal. sleep ok. no sweats, anxiety. nothing.
Ive been trying to figure out why...the best reasoning I can come up with came from a post here back in 2010 where the poster said "
I recommend you take oxiracetam to offset that because it has been found in clinical studies to inhibit the NMDA antagonization from drugs/supplements which antagonize the NMDA receptors"
Soooo. perhaps it prevents alcohol from antagonising nmda, and stops the whole process of your body over-adjusting with a glutamate storm.
I cant find any reports of similar experiences...but most people dont look for supplements/noots that allow them to continue to have an occasional boozy night.
I have sunifiram and aniracetam on order to try out someday....curious / perhaps worried what effects they will have.
