I eat a pretty vegetable-rich, low-meat diet. I've also got the full homozygous MTHFR C677T, MTRR A664A, & MTR A66G polymorphisms. From what I understand, I should benefit from b12 & folate supplementation.
While taking 1mg of methyl-b12 and 800 mcg of methyl-folate per day, my last serum B12 test came back around 1300 pg/mL -- the reference range for normal healthy individuals is 211-946 pg/mL. I avoided supplements the day before my blood test and fasted for 24hrs before the blood draw.
Is this a sign that I might be supplementing too much b12? Or, is this a sign that I'm not metabolizing this b12 very well? Or, is this benign or possibly a hint of something else that I could follow up with (low GSH?)
