Is liposomal gaba just another useless gaba supplement that doesn’t cross the blood brain barrier? Or is it worth trialling? Does anybody have any opinion or experience with it?

I seriously doubt any normal liposome will cross the BBB. And if the liposomes disgorge their GABA in the bloodstream that isn't going to cross the BBB either.
If all you want to do is get GABA across the BBB, there is of course picamilon. A conjugate of GABA and Niacin. That will certainly cross the BBB. The only problem is that supplying exogenous GABA to the brain like that is going to down regulate your normal production of GABA and perhaps down regulate/decouple your GABA receptors as well. In other words, tolerance will build and often times quickly.
This is the sort of thing you can get away with occasionally. Maybe once or twice a week. But putting exogenous GABA into your brain regularly on a long term basis is not a workable plan. The body/brain is just too good at re-establishing your original operating point. And with the resulting changes to your neurotransmitter production and receptor populations you'll be worse off than when you started.
