It occurred to me that the power of this scene might be greatly diminished if watched out of the context of the intensity of the conflict during "The Troubles,"and the unconscionable conditions of the Maze Prison that were exhibited in the film. Although my intentions may easily be misinterpreted, the posting of this link was not meant as a tribalistic expression of support for Irish Republicanism, or even the hunger strikers, but rather, as an example of how societal conditions shap...
