This study suggest formation of hydrogen peroxide from that combination,

The concern is primarily with ascorbic acid in the retina, where oxygen, light, and other antioxidants can interact with it. But dosage, while within the range that people use, is relatively high.

there is a narrow range of concentrations and exposure times where ascorbate exerts photoprotective effects, exceeding which leads to ascorbate-mediated increase in photocytotoxicity.

So one might want to avoid large doses of C before going out to the beach.
