I think he was probably being sarcastic. I think Picard rocks majorly. Not only in his choice of tea (earl grey all the way baby!) but his general demeanour and kickass unbreakable resolve aswell.

His baldness (and possible attractiveness) reminds me of Neil Strauss' ... [lol]

Please tell me that you didn't find that out after propositioning her.

No, I've found it out by watching anime that included incest with her. :)

You scare me Michael

Actually, I was going for "you'd be alone = less weight in the car = better fuel economy".

For some reason I confused the joke for a remark about Michael's comments about incest. Forgot it was about letting the girls come to you.

I was friends with a couple, where the wife came from Russia. I was good friends with her, this kind of arrangement can work--she talked of how many more women their are than men. In this case he went to Russia to meet her and her family, three times before they married.

She misses her family, and had a hard time fitting in--but started helping families who adopted Russian children, by translating for the children and teaching them English.

I've also seen it not work, it takes a very caring empathetic man--who is at least mildly established here in the U.S. I'm sure many of you have seen 'Mail Order Bride' --that documentary is mainly sad.

This thread exposed a lot of sexism IMO-- some parts were disturbing, such as:

"I think it will be quite awhile until having sex with corpses is legal/not a social taboo, as I think it probably should be. " In response to a string of sexual practices considered immoral that included pedophilia, that having sex with a minor deemed by society as not old enough to make many important life decisions, was not singled out as well.

Along with men wishing for women who were subservient 'not strong willed'. Some wanted intelligent/educated women. My experiences with love are-- when you love someone you want to please them. I'm as strong willed as they come, and good looking by societal standards -- and it is my greatest joy to please my husband daily.

On finding love--I like Match.com because there are so many people--much faster than a bar, church, work or school. You can find people with the same interests, and be up front right away about what you are looking for (flings, dating or wanting to find a mate).

Also just about everyone here should know people live longer with a mate. If an accident occurs, you'll have help. If you are a cryonicist then it is safer in your old age to live with people. (maybe even children you've created with your mate, if you are widowed)

Two incomes, and help around the house--make for building a better nest egg--all sorts of reasons to have a mate.

my girlfriend lives in russia, but I did live there for a year myself (my best friend over there introduced us while I was living there). I also speak russian.

Don't plan on getting married anytime soon.
