Thanks man for your detailed feedback. So no gyno with zinc + grape seed... very interesting.
How much zinc? Did you stack it with copper as well?

Have you ever tried resveratrol? It should behave in a way similar to grape seed extract.

Do you have any experience with cordyceps? I’ve read that it should increase testosterone.

One last question: what about boron? It should decrease SHBG, thus increasing free testosterone, but for this reason also estradiol increases. Therefore I think that also boron should be stacked with an antiaromatase

Trying to not go off-topic:

Zinc: 30 mg zinc oxide (worst form). No copper. 100 mg Grape seed x 3 or x4 a day

I have not tried resveratrol. It is know for activating the longevity gene "sirt1", grape seed is not so good for doing that.

I have not tried cordyceps but it looks very interesting: Increases oxygen utilization and increases Tyrosine Hydroxylase expression. I have read good reports about it, take a look at NootropicsDepot Cordyceps comments in the products page, reddit or amazon.

I have no idea about Boron. If you want to increase T, Ashwagandha and Ginger are good options. Take into account, more T not always equals to more libido. That's why I recommend Maca at least for me it increases libido even in a Noopept cycle. Noopept totally kills my libido, even with PDE5 inhibitors the guy not wake up, but Maca+adaptogens like Ginseng restored it, I'm at least thinking about sex with Noopept in my system by using those herbs. Without the herbs Noopept makes act like logical machine only interested in knowledge.

Okay thanks, all clear.
I’ll try adding asta 4mg, zinc 30mg and grape seed extract to my current stack, along with taurine and glycine.
Mayble I’ll try also ginseng, cycled with Rhodiola and ginseng.

Thanks again!

I have started taking sunflower lecithin, 8/23, in the hopes of improving the absorption of asta. 2 softgels @ 1200mg ea immediately after dinner with asta. I will update shortly.

I'm concerned about gyno from Asta as well. I've been taking it for a while (about 10mg a day) and I've definitely noticed a huge decrease in libido.

Do any of you guys know if I could still use it as a topical or could that also affect 5-alpha-reductase?

I'm prone to prolactin induced gyno and never had any issue with astaxanthin even at 20mg ED.

You could try topical administration but asta is a strong pigment and might cause staining. But I don't see what you hope to accomplish with topical administration unless it was used for spot treatment.

Synthetics don't turn me off at all.  If it's the same molecule, it's the same molecule. Whether it came out of an algae or beaker.

One of the arguments I heard was that at least some synthetics the configuration of the molecule is not the same.

antioxidants-09-00422-g001-550.jpg

Like happens with alpha lipoic acid or resveratrol, where there are cis and trans variations.

Natural astaxanthin is a long straight line molecule, that allows it to easily embed in the lipid bilayers of the cell.   Some synthetics have a kink in the molecule, making it more like an L shape than a straight line, this is said to make it harder to integrate into a cell's lipid bilayer.

Would such affect function? Maybe.   Sounds plausible, that the molecule shape having such a notable difference could affect it.

I just had a libido issues with Bioastin been taking it for over a month now 4mg only once a day and its causing me to have some slight sad thoughts, and low libido its scary. This thing must do something similar to Finasteride, when I took Fin it gae me the same side affects

Is this safe to take for men? it makes my skin look nice and reddish tan, but im scared of the libido issue and the negative sad thoughts.

I've been taking it for a couple years at least, on and off, but only 4mg usually. I sometimes take 8mg. I don't know how to describe it but I generally feel better when I take it. And, I think this may be a coincidence, but since I began taking it, I also have less of an appetite and lost some weight. It may not be related, though those things happened at the same time.

Half life of astaxanthin is 16 hours  and detectable in blood serum up to 72 hours. I dose every other day.
