Does anyone know where I can purchase pure powdered diphenhydramine (Benadryl) without a prescription?  I’ve been using it as a sleep aid.  I get very bad insomnia some nights due to work stress.  I have an emergency allergic reaction kit in my house that has liquid intramuscular diphenhydramine in it and I’ve been taking a shot as needed before bed.  It puts me right out in about a minute.  Every time.  It’s actually amazing.  Taking the equivalent dose in a pill does not have the same effect, even adjusted for time.  However, I’ve run out of the liquid and I’m looking to make more.  Does anyone know of a reliable lab that manufactures diphenhydramine without a script? 

I would advise against using Benadryl for sleep on a consistent basis. It has powerful anticholinergic properties which have been linked to dementia.

I appreciate your concern.  As I mentioned in my post, I use it on an “as needed” basis, not on a regular basis.  

I would just get a bulk deal on tablets from walmart or costco.
