A chemist advised me it's fine to inject 99% dmso, only a tiny amount went in and either Iv caused severe tissue damage or I have dmso stuck inside me, it burned and hurt like hell, what can I dilute with that won't ruin the solution, I know using water with dmso caused nootropics to revert back to powder, maybe saline?

Injecting DMSO is very dangerous, and you likely did sustain tissue damage. I would advise not using DMSO except topically. It is very good for preventing bruises if used immediately after a crushing injury, but can be toxic to several tissue types if taken internally.

In this study, we report that DMSO produces widespread, dose-dependent neurodegeneration in the developing CNS as ascertained by activated caspase-3 immunohistochemistry. Electron microscopy confirmed that degenerating neurons displayed histological hallmarks of apoptosis. While DMSO has been noted to produce apoptosis in lymphoid tissue in vitro (Chateau et al., 1996; Trubiani et al., 1996) as well as in vivo (Aita et al., 2005), this is the first report, to our knowledge, that DMSO produces apoptosis in the CNS. At the time of peak sensitivity – P7 –we could detect significant apoptosis at the lowest dose tested, 0.3 ml/kg, and at the maximal dose tested approximately 900,000 neurons were undergoing apoptosis. Given that damage in some regions (e.g. CPu) is no longer detectable 8 hours after injection, this number is likely to be an underestimate. The dose of 0.3 ml/kg is approximately 10 fold lower than the toxic dose reported for lymphoid tissue (Aita et al., 2005). In an in vitro preparation, we found that concentrations as low as 0.5% could produce apoptosis.

And --

Dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) is a polar organic solvent that is used to dissolve neuroprotective or neurotoxic agents in neuroscience research. However, DMSO itself also has pharmacological and pathological effects on the nervous system. Astrocytes play a central role in maintaining brain homeostasis, but the effect and mechanism of DMSO on astrocytes has not been studied. The present study showed that exposure of astrocyte cultures to 1% DMSO for 24 h did not significantly affect cell survival, but decreased cell viability and glial glutamate transporter expression, and caused mitochondrial swelling, membrane potential impairment and reactive oxygen species production, and subsequent cytochrome c release and caspase-3 activation. DMSO at concentrations of 5% significantly inhibited cell variability and promoted apoptosis of astrocytes, accompanied with more severe mitochondrial damage. These results suggest that mitochondrial impairment is a primary event in DMSO-induced astrocyte toxicity.

As for injecting 99% DMSO, you received some particularly bad advice.

The effects of DMSO differ depending on dose and route of administration. Introducing DMSO concentrations higher than 50% into the blood resulted in instant hemolysis, white cell stacking and fibrinogen precipitation while direct injection of DMSO intravenously could cause local irritation and necrosis.

Will the damage tissue repair itself?, is there any solvent for nootropics that can be injected?

No pain certainly doesn't mean something is safe to do.

Some poisons might not have a taste also but that doesn't take away from the damage.
