Can somebody please explain in more detail to what happens during

Dopamine transmission
Dopamine release
When you agonise or antagonise D receptors? The difference when using dopamine transporter inhibitors such us bupropion and modanafil?
I have read that busprione antagonises some d receptors which increases dopamine release. Does that mean the receptors are blocked therefore the body releases more dopamine ?
As for dopamine agonist do they deplete dopamine?

Everything is very confusing for me.
Just trying to understand a little bit more with our dopaminergic system

When you agonise or antagonise D receptors?

 

deference dopamine receptors has deference effect, there a 5 dopamine receptors , agonisting them will lead to increase ability to enjoy something to urge you to do it , like the food is enjoyable when being hungry

 

when you agonist them what will happen:

D1: increase reward for goal directed behaviors.

agonisting lead to motivation

high agonisting lead to work addiction

blocking them lead to unproductive person

 

D2: increase reward (ability to enjoy) complex stuff like internet, science etc.. also urge to done work more efficiency

agonisting lead to be smart

high agonisting lead to internet addiction, ocd, hyperactivity , racing thought etc..

blocking them lead to be stupid unable to understanding any thing that have some complexity or even very low complex things like 1+1=?

you mostly will be a farmer

 

D3: increase reward for sex, impulsive behaviors, risk taking, money spending, relapse

agonisting lead to be hypersexuality, gambling, overspending, addiction etc..

blocking them lead to unability to enjoy sex, fear from risk taking station or any danger, Stinginess etc..

 

D4: novelty seeking

agonisting lead to relationship cheating (you will enjoy being with multiple girl/boy friends), switching phones regularly,  you will love anything new

 

D5: unknown

 

there some research said that possibly dopamine 6 and 7 receptors might exist.

 

you need to agonist receptor the sweet your needs and block what you don't

generally there is no difference but modafinil mechanizem of action is not really known yet

no busprione doesn't antagonises dopamine receptors, if any it not clinically relevant bc its so weak relative to its DAT bidding

that's called tolerance, the body try to eliminate the drug effect by increase dopamine but it will not really eliminate it it will decrease it to just 5-20%.

 

 

As for dopamine agonist do they deplete dopamine?
