IT's a bunch of things together that a plausible story can be made of that is is a longevity complex. Nothing wrong with that. Especially I like that they give you enough as a powder to possibly actually do something.. It's really dumb how most companies tell you a pill or two a day is the answer to longevity, when there's not enough in them of anything useful to make a difference. There are more ingredients that you could arguably being taking along with this, but it could be a base to work from.

So all in all OK.

Thanks for the feedback.  I haven’t seen any reviews of this product online anywhere from those who have actually used this Novos product.

@Oakman - have you created your own regimen of certain anti-aging products you take daily?  If so, please share your protocol.

Looking at your stack there Oakman, I'm still curious about the Vit. C / PQQ issue (or non-issue as the case may be):

Interesting, hadn't seen that and will check it out. PQQ is to $$ to waste!

What they say about vitamin C's effect on AKG is interesting:

Vitamin C and Longevity - NOVOS (novoslabs.com)

The thing is that vitamin C accumulate very differently in tissues:

9.31 Vitamin C Absorption & Tissue Accumulation | Nutrition Flexbook (lumenlearning.com)

Where does AKG supplements accumulate in the body? Does the AKG form have an effect on that? Would taking both vit. C and AKG synergize and/or complement each other depending on the tissue on their effect of TET enzymes? In other words both would have to be taken to help demethylate all the tissues?

So to catch anyone up on reading this, Oakman pointed out on the other thread that the issue I had raised above about Vit. C/PQQ would actually appear to be a non-issue. That's great news!

I don't think that it accumulates anywhere per se, it's such a ubiquitous molecule being a metabolite of the TCA cycle and being involved in so many other enzymatic pathways. Yeah the idea is that taking C and AKG together would help (as would Vit A) but its a probability thing, in order for TET to work at all a dance occurs where DNA methyltransferases DNMT1 and DNMT3 are not present at the loci and then TET can function but only in the presence of AKG. The idea is that supplementing A and C help it along, potentiate it:  https://www.futureme...7/epi-2017-0021

Thanks, it was clarifying. Since ascorbate level can be very different from one type of cell to another, perhaps in some tissue there will be enough Fe2+ produced whereas in others it will be insufficient amount.

This leads me to perhaps a naive question, can Fe2+ be reduced to Fe+ with ascorbate or other anti-oxidants? I take it Fe+ can't be used by the TET enzymes, so it would reduce their effectiveness if too much Fe2+ was converted. Would too much anti-oxidant be counter productive? Here again, the level of ascorbate varying greatly from one tissue to another, some tissue might have too much conversion of Fe2+ to Fe+ while others could have insufficient conversion from Fe3+ to Fe2+.

Vit C has been shown to extend life span, but could it be a U shape curve?

Looks like a nice mix. Based upon recent research, it seems AKG might be the most important ingredient. There are a lot of similar things on the market. I am starting to wonder if I should drop most of my supplements and take one of these mixtures.

"Enables synergistic effects on aging"

I am willing to bet the company did not do one single RCT trial on the combinations of the various ingredients. It is easy to say that there are synergies, but hard (and expensive) to prove it.

Hello everyone! I want to introduce myself to the community – though I've been a member for many years.

I'm Chris, founder and CEO of Novos. I've been a member of the Longecity community for the past decade and an active contributor throughout. I'm very thankful to this community, who helped to further develop my interest and knowledge in the space and played a part in my drive to launch Novos.

I've decided it would be best to create a new profile, as a representative of Novos, rather than combining it with my personal longecity profile. I hope everyone's cool with this.

Oakman -- Yes, we make a point to include adequate ingredients to make an impact. We didn't go cheap on a single ingredient! And if you were to try to create this as your own stack on Amazon, it would cost $140+ /month and require 17 pills /day. It's important to us that we provide a great value and make a real impact on people's healthspans and lifespans.

Mind -- You make a great point about the difficulties (including financial costs) to prove out synergistic effects. With that said, we're doing it, because of how important the topic of human aging is to all of us.

We have launched multiple in vivo & in vitro human cell studies at independent labs run by well respected longevity biologists. We have some early results from a couple of the in vitro studies, and although I can't say much about them yet, the results have us very excited. I hope to be able to share more soon!

You can find the logic behind our formulation here, which includes an abbreviated list of scientific references. In all, we sorted through thousands of studies for hundreds of natural compounds and carefully selected the 12 that are contained in Core.

You can also find our world-renowned scientific advisors here, who contributed to our formulations and scientific studies, alongside my cofounder, Dr. Kris V.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions about Novos Core, Novos Boost, or our science. Or check out our blog for lots of longevity MD authored content!
