Two new hi-oleic varieties of common foodstuffs have been introduced in the markets in the past few years ; one of them is tritordeum and the other one is peanuts. In Australia it seems like the latter are quite easy to obtain, I also noticed that Ludlow nuts (from the UK) sell peanuts which are claimed to be of the hi-oleic variety. On the product page Ludlow compares the fatty acid profile of those peanuts with that of the normal variety. I quote :

Fat content between:-

Hi Oleic Peanuts Normal Peanuts

82% monounsaturated 54% monounsaturated

5% polyunsaturated 28% polyunsaturated

13% saturated 18% saturated

However, it looks like Ludlow only sells to the UK. I'll send them a mail asking if they're willing to make exceptions. Any of you been able to obtain these peanuts in the EU?

Ended up using a shipping forwarding service. Still comes out cheaper than most other nuts.
