can animals become mentally ill like humans? they can be depressed, stress and anger disorders, or overly happy, but i wouldnt consider them the same type of mental illness as human. i would categorize it differently. humans have the ability to have wrong beliefs and crazy schizophrenic bipolar. where as animals dont have those as far as i know it cant get like that, they cant stray away from a natural mindset to unnatural.
