So I found this article that says vitamin C + fat = cancer.

Originally I was going to ask, "so should we take vitamin C without fat, then?"

But then I saw this mention at the bottom of the article:

"N.B. This footnote has been added after we received several e-mails explaining the same: This article equates ascorbic acid with vitamin C. Ingested by itself, ascorbic acid can actually CAUSE oxidative damage. The fact is that ascorbic acid is only the PRESERVATIVE part of naturally occurring vitamin C. Naturally occurring vitamin C contains other phytochemicals that do provide a protective effect against cancer. Raw organic broccoli is an excellent source of fully complexed vitamin C. To equate ascorbic acid alone with vitamin C is inaccurate and dangerous."

It basically says ascorbic acid is not vitamin C, and by itself it can cause oxidative damage.

So... do they make a vitamin C supplement that is each part you need and not just ascorbic acid?

Ascorbic acid is Vitamin C. Other phytonutrients do complement it, but are not as essential to get from diet as vitamin C. Therefore, there isn't a 'vitamin C' complex, since other phytonutrients aren't essential or cause a deficiency disease. Like causing scurvy, as with complete lack of ascorbic acid in the diet.

..those high fat-phobics.. :|? .. showing 10% of fat - which kind of fat ? - in a test-tube prevented the beneficial effect of ascorbic acid - how tiny little ?  - turning nitrosamines into nitric oxide. And then phantasize of future cancer of that poor test-tube.

Most people to get at least 30% of daily calories of omega-6 fats from seed oils prevalent in all industrially processed foods, or any cooking oil. And which is probably cancerous itself. And ARE getting enough ascorbic acid from food for not becoming scorbutic. So basically this danger would apply to everyone. If it did. One can't survive without any fat or ascorbic acid.

Practically I get 70% fat of all my daily calories (but 0% from seed oils), and about 280.000 times the RDA of ascorbic acid daily the last 14 years. Only experienced remission (PAD, COPD, T2D, ME/CFS symptoms..)

And no, oral ascorbic acid can't cause oxidative damage. I tested my oxidated LDL and it only went down. But take to little and your oxidated LDL might indeed go up thereby.
