Telomerase in aging

Hi,

Lay people often "know" that we die because we run out of telomeres. To me, this doesn't seem logical. The cells that need to divide - that is, our stem cells in bone marrow, intestines, skin and so on - express telomerase, so they can prolong their telomeres indefinitely.
