Basically transhumanism is the will to modify our body to be the way we want it to be. So it seems to me that it would be important to devise ways in which our will could exert its effect on the body. In the context of anti-aging, I’ll give the following examples.

If we are to live much longer than now, we may all be facing cancer at some point. However, we have the means to identify cancer cells. It is only that our immune system isn’t quite as capable. This is because there is no connection between the information we have in our mind and the immune system. Wouldn’t it be useful to have such a connection?

Some cells become senescent and switch on an expression profile that causes them to harass surrounding tissues with enzymes that degrade tissue and signalling molecules that cause inflammation (and, perhaps, prolonged inflammation heightens the probability of cancer). Wouldn’t it be nice if we could somehow “order” these cells to go back to their old ways or just to kill themselves? Or make our immune system kill cells with these expression profiles?

In mind, will is exerted by voltages and neurotransmitters. It’s just that the chain of causation can’t go as far as we want. This is something I wish we’ll engineer ourselves capable of doing.
