My friend of steel has has a heart of gold
more than that he will never grow old
atomic batteries will keep him fine
he is the best and he is mine.

I can't wait to post to this thread! So far Ninja Tune and Luke Vibert have been represented, as well as teh kraftwerk :)

Ooooooh it's gonna be fun. Right now I have a family-ka-sniggle, and tomorrow I'm back "home" in Calgary. Gotta pack my pills!

This is what happens when a toddler is crossed with a huge lizard.

Who would like it? Parents of small children.

Is it me, or is YouTube's sound quality bad. Even if the
link I provided gives better sound quality I can't tell if it's
CD quality.(Though I suppose if I can't tell it wouldn't matter.)

Anyone can respond here. This link is the same video/song
from another site:

Including a link to the lyrics may also be good for people
to do.

Music and lyrics good. Video confusing (minimize and do something else?)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Within Temptation is a band from the Netherlands. Founded by guitarist Robert Westerholt and vocalist Sharon den Adel, their music is variously described as symphonic metal and sometimes by the media as gothic metal, from which they take influence.

Hi

I'm going to try
to embed some videos here.

QUESTION: Is it *possible* to embed music videos from *any* site.
Dailymotion.com has a link that says 'embeddable player'
but I tried it here and it only worked in Preview mode.
When I actually posted the post it was gone.

( I know it is possible with youtube and perhaps google. )

Well I can't seem to embed a player. I'm just going to post some video links.
Since the title here is : What kind of music are you watching at the moment

this is what I'm posting. Nothing here is going to change the world. Not every
video is great.

Can't seem to find any site that has CD quality sound. Sorry.

A number of videos below... that have some *variety*.

Approximations of lyrics:

If anyone gets anything out of any of this, please let me know. Thanks. -Stephen

All band members were born in 1979. As best friends, they formed in the eighth grade to play for their school's "Day on the Green." The only girl band in their town Palo Alto, California, they were relatively unknown until they were out of high school. They are all self-taught musicians and practiced in Castellano's garage nearly every day during high school. They are sometimes described as a punk band, but the band itself denies any kind of affiliation with the punk rock movement.

Experimenting with different musical styles, they underwent a variety of band names (Screen, Ragady Anne, and The Electrocutes) before settling on The Donnas.

Ah, I forgot about this thread! Edit: Oops, just realized that this is a new music thread.

How about The Strokes? Another fantabulous post punk revival/rock band; great range, gritty vocals, attitude, you name it. [thumb] Oh, and chics really did their shit too. ;)) I'm totally straight, but I can see why half the women on the planet want to have Jules' love child.

QUOTE (tintinet)
Current Finetune Playlist: http://www.finetune....laylist/1299157

I checked it out. Some good and some bad to it.

One of the things I look for is sound quality. By happenstance I played
Hanging On The Telephone at finetune and then with my pay service, urge.
In this *one* example, it is obvious that the sound quality of finetune is inferior.

This probably will never be a problem for casual listening without headphones.

Pandora's sound quality is excellent (I think? can't always tell.) Compare
Hanging on the Telephone at finetune with this link at Pandora. Listen carefully
to the cymbal being hit.It will sound noisy at finetune in a certain part of the song,
but not at Pandora (or urge for that matter)

listen to the cymbal here:

Don't leave me hanging on the telephone.
Don't leave me hanging on the telephone.

(I hear the same poor sound quality on music videos
most of the time.)

(can't get a direct link to your site, sorry, here is my link)

http://www.pandora.c...2178811551903fc

Same sample here:

http://www.last.fm/m...n the Telephone

But,yet, Pandora doesn't have this full song, and finetune does.
Pandora only allows 6 skips per station.
Finetune allows an infinite number it seems. (?)

Pandora has some Evanescence. Urge has none for free, and I pay
for this!!!! (By the way Lithium, which I just played {by Evanesence}
seems to have a sound quality problem as well at finetune.)

Pandora has some by The Crest.
finetune and urge have none.

So check out Pandora if you haven't already.
I've never done this, but supposedly I can e-mail you a station from Pandora,
if you want to try that. I would need the name of a song. Pandora should be
able to create a station with similar songs. Up to you.

Some people like last.fm.
Urge is a thought, for a pay service.
