You don't gain muscle by sitting on your ass eating protein all day or even injecting androgenic steroids.

Just for the hell of it: You can gain LBM with exogenous testosterone without training.

I shouldn't have said that. I remember reading a study on it years ago. As a side-note though, it would be altering the genetic potential that I stated. It would introduce more testosterone than genetically normal for the consumer.

You are very wrong. Eating high protein diets increase testosterone which in turn increases LBM.

Therefore HIGH protein = High Testosterone = increased muscle mass WITHOUT definitive exercise.

I challenge anyone to weigh out 1lb of beef everyday for even TWO weeks and they will notice a huge potential power difference in just this short period of time.
However, most poeple will eat 4-8oz of meat everyday even when "pigging out" because they are not really eating much meat. They might eat alot of shitty carbs but the amount of "actual" meat is very low.

I want to be a good 10kgs (22lbs) heavier than what I am now. However my metabolism is too fast to keep anything I have.

Years ago, I went on a non stop eating frenzy for several weeks. I counted all the calories and was eating just over 6000 calories EVERY DAY. It took 1 week to gain 1kg that would stay on and not drop off again. It did that for 3kgs worth but always lost weight sleeping. I would go to bed at 73kgs (160lbs) after eating plenty of pizza, donuts, biscuts and rubbish throughout the day as well as SOME good stuff ;) But 6 hours later I would wake up and without going to the toilet yet, I would be 71kgs! (156lbs). This happened for a few weeks until I gave up and I stayed at 71kgs for quite some time even when going back to ~2000 calories per day. But how did I lose that much weight in 6 hours of sleep!!!

So is there any supplement that slows down metabolism? I dont want those highly processed and expensive protein body building shakes either.

I can't believe that Candida wasn't mentioned in this thread, as a possible reason for not being able to gain weight. Check into parasites, also.

http://www.candidasupport.org/ Check the symptoms and if they match, take the test. When you rise in the morning, spit into a clear glass of water 3/4 full. If your saliva sinks and has little cloudy legs that form, you have a
candida overgrowth. If your saliva floats on top of the water and doesn't turn cloudy, you don't have it. Give it 2-3 minutes to form.

Check with your healthcare practioner about an intestinal parasite problem. I know this thread is old, but that needed to be said. So many people are in the dark about candida and parasites. And of course if you have candida, a good probiotic will be needed, as well as cutting out sugar and bad carbs.

Sounds like what I had for a long time! lol. If I slept too long I would lose weight ;) Plus putting on much additional muscle was almost impossible too... Nothing happened! Ever...

This link is for Matt and anyone with this inability to gain weight. A lotta things affecting metabolism and thyroid are screwing our chances of that great beach body. I can't stress enough about Candida. This overgrowth of yeast can potentially affect every organ our bodies. Get tested!
