I was just randomly helping Imminst when I came across an interesting ad. This one - Jon Barron. Has anyone heard of this guy? His theories? Most people here probably already know about the studies and supplements he is talking about. I found his website informative, although not as comprehensive as Imminst.

Yes, I saw this website a while ago when I was searching for information about lipofuscin.

Thanks for posting this link. It was a very good find and confirms much of the research I've done. I have found a vegetarian source (Now Foods) and am adding L-Carnosine to my regimen.

I stumbled upon that site a while ago. He gets anti-aging things largely right, imho. He also drifts a bit into the more woo-woo side of the "alternative" world on occasion too. I wish that he would provide some citations for some of the things he says. You just have to take his word for everything. He likes Carnosine, DMAE, and ALCAR. The only one of those I'm not taking at the moment is DMAE. It is said to help clear lipofuscin, which seems like a very good activity. I've seen this claim from sources other than Barron. Mind, could you ask John what he thinks about DMAE/lipofuscin on sunday? It seems like it would be right up the lysoSENS alley.

Why not take the less controversial centrophenoxine instead?

When I first started taking Carnosine, I did some digging and found multiple references recommending DMAE to clear up lipofuscin as Carnosine, reputedly caused more Lipofuscin to form. It seemed odd to me as Lipofuscin and AGEs are completely different compounds, but DMAE sounded like some pretty good stuff to begin with so I added it in along with the Carnosine.

Do a Google search for Carnosine and Lipofuscin and you will find some info (granted this info is mainly from the likes of people selling Carnosine and DMAE as well as from some less than credible supposed Doctors pushing altrenative therapies). Again I saw no problem with taking DMAE and its cheap, probably helps with cognition and has some neuroprotective effects so I felt more investigation wasn't necessary, it was easier just to throw it in my daily supplement routine :)

Umm, in my opinion DMAE is much less controversial than Centrophenoxine. Its actually found in nature (fish and other sources I believe), and has a long track record of use and safety. I would love to have clarity though on whether it is the DMAE fraction of Centro or the "auxine" fraction that actually clears lipofuscin.
