Additional remarks:

1. Can the taskbar minimazation be completely removed? It's a long distance from my desktop to my systray in order to minimize to systray. I'd rather have the standard minimize button be given the functionality of systray minimization.

In fact, I think all windows progs should have that standard, that's how much I love it!

2. Why is the total amount of donated money constantly on the rise, cent per cent?

3. When I sort, the table goes back to its original status after a few seconds. Just keep watching it. Perhaps this has something to do with a timed update in the program, or something like that.

4. The popping up of windows: it should be done somewhere in the middle of the screen. Not the top left. I'm sorry for nagging you guys to complete madness, but I can't help myself... I'm a computer scientist. :)

Slightly offtopic:

5. Have you guys noticed that Kurzweil has also (just like Aubrey) stated that 'we' (wonder what he means with 'we') anticipate ('anticipate'? interesting choice of words :) ) stopping aging in a mouse in 10 years? Kurzweil is more positive about human aging than Aubrey though. He said right after that, that we might be able to do it in humans 10 years later.

Do ya think he expects the Methuselah Mouse Prize to be THAT succesful? :)

Two more questions:

That total amount... is that the total amount of all donors in the list, or all donors in totall?

Why is there the PP and the RP category?

And perhaps a graph showing the growth of the MMP would be kinda cool...

You could visualize the growth of the number of donations per month... and the growth of the total amount, etc.

This program is gonna be the coolest thing on the block. Everybody will want to have it. You won't be cool if you don't.

Hi Jay, Thanks for the suggestions. We are driving for finishing rel 1, and are saving up your, my and other's comments and suggestion for a rel 1.a while we stamp out show stoppers and put the final touches on the original feature set.

Re:Kurzweil and others...I think Aubrey has hit a nerve, and importantly the MMP gives folks a MODALITY or instrument around which to rally that is utterly neutral yet exciting...one could think of it as a "hope tree" that is helping folks who were privately optimistic gain courage to go public as Aubrey as he leads the charge. It's no longer idle talk, Aubrey is clearly leading the charge. The more folks who give, the more credible it becomes, and eventually it all becomes a self fulfilling prophesy in the mold of Alan Kay's useful aphorism "The best way to predict the future is to invent it".

Ok, I'm interested in opinions...once the toteboard is more widespread and has a somewhat inproved feature set such that most folks who download it would want it even if it didn't mention the prize...I'm thinking about taking the current prize amount off the front page of the mmp site, and letting folks know that they can download the toteboard to keep track of the amount. My first reaction to the thought is that it's nuts...and then, it began to grow on me (maybe like fungus :)

looking for thoughtful opinions

We're looking at this one. I agree with that as a standard.

Hi Folks,

See http://web2.knowtech...n4_speaker2.mp4

if you haven't already seen it. The video starts with a wonderful guitar solo (not Aubrey) and then he follows.

FYI - Aaron has added Wired and Slashdot to the other newsfeeds to the toteboard newsreader.

Nice work Aaron - Thanks!

I finally wrestled icons to the ground, I hope. At least until we have a half-way decent icon artist who understands the way in which windows systray icons work to do it over. Should see those plus alerts in the next version, I think.
